  1. He did that twice, but that rich extension didn't kick in until after the first of those awful seasons which make the extension more absurd.
  2. [h=2]Price's elbow feeling good heading into camp[/h] David Price is healthy ahead of Red Sox camp WWW.MLB.COM BOSTON -- Eight days before the official start of Spring Training, David Price has some good news for Red Sox fans. His left elbow, which limited him to 11 starts last season, is feeling strong.Price was among several Red Sox players who has been working out at the team's Spring Training
  3. i guess that you just can’t get enough of 15 and 17 loss seasons with ERAs closer to 5 than 4 and leading the league in HRs for $21 million/season. Don’t sign me up, and you are fired as the GM.
  4. I didn't get the eagerness to give him the 4 year extension. We should have traded him last off season when his value was high.
  5. I am yet to hear of an instance where quitting one's job and sacrificing a career has saved a marriage. It didn't work for another Ryan too -- Sandberg. He walked away from $14 million/2 years to save his marriage. She filed divorce papers 3 weeks after he retired. He came back to play the following season for $1.5 million. Two Cubbies named Ryan neck and neck in the dope contest
  6. Hopefully, the truck can pick up a big hitter en route.
  7. My opinion that Dempster was a dope to walk away from $13 million. He is a hero to John Henry. His wife divorced him shortly thereafter. I wonder if she cited stupidity in the divorce papers.
  8. Pedroia thinks that he will be ready by Opening Day, but he has always be overly aggressive. The team says that he will be ready by the end of May, but I think they tend to be conservative to lower expectations. I am going with May1st.
  9. Or bubblegum.
  10. Too bad Johnny Neuron Farrell had none.
  11. He had thrown a complete game shutout the night before and was putting up All Star numbers and he hadn’t run the bases since high school. He didn’t ask to pinch run. Talking about how he hadn’t run the bases since High School (more than 10 years prior) indicates that he was pretty surprised by Farrell’s decision. It was an idiotic decision as Wright was going to go base to base just like Ortiz, who at least knows how to slide etc. Farrell didn’t intentionally ruin Wright’s career, but he put a guy out there to do a job in which he had no experience or skill. The decision was fraught with downside.
  12. And if they think they remember, they are usually remembering wrong, through their confirmation bias filter.
  13. ^This is true.
  14. He was LL's Uber Driver.
  15. Middlebrooks' career peaked when he tossed around a Frisbee in the Commons with SoxFanForsyth one winters dy.
  16. I think you are probably right. It‘s just that day after day of no transactions is getting me down.
  17. And we have a very expensive team that can compete for a Wild Card spot if things break right for us. This is a stupid way to build a roster in a window period.
  18. Boston wasn't on his list.
  19. It is shaping up to be another day of nothing.
  20. His record with pitching-- in particular starting pitching-- was very bad.
  21. if Ben’s plan came to fruition, it would have come to fruition without pitching as he was clueless when it came to pitching, and you can’t win without pitching.
  22. Hopefully, he could negotiate a better package. The Nats have said that they will not budge on their top 2 prospects.
  23. Vasquez would go in the package.
  24. Playing what position for a full season?
  25. Red Sox seem to be building up Swihart's profile. Maybe they are trying to build his trade value.
