  1. Pedey made the nice play. I don't know why Moreland ventures so far off the base on ground balls that would be fielded by the second baseman.
  2. Your experience was the same.
  3. Leon with 110 foot Double.
  4. Why sign a left handed hitter when we already have Moreland?
  5. Rice's weights were carrying Jerry Remy off the field after hurting his knee and carrying a little girl into the clubhouse after getting hit with a foul ball.
  6. I don't understand this move:
  7. I think other people implied that Cora would be avoiding a clubhouse problem with Hanley. i don't think that Cora implied it.
  8. And I am sure that it was a workplace that was very similar to the high paid high finance world that is major league baseball. Of course, each of the workers at your was represented by highly compensated license professional agents and attorneys, so it was certainly a very good comparison.
  9. And even if LL came out and said that he brought those deals to Ben to get done, I still lay the blame at Ben's feet. If he was a good GM, he would have been able to convince LL of the merits of his plan and assure him that he had better alternatives that he was pursuing. Good leaders lead. They are not puppets.
  10. DD just gave his manager the team that he wanted. He was surprised that Cora wanted to move Hanley, probably because he didn't think that Cora would find much of a role for Swihart. It played into DD's hands, because Hanley's situation was eventually going to come to a head, and he probably wanted to hold onto Swihart a little longer.
  11. The agent community should already know how these options work and they know that Hanley is represented by an able agent. They don't care.
  12. The guy brought in some excellent prospects, but he had a blind spot when it came to pitching. He was awful at developing pitching, trading for it or acquiring it. He had several mid-size long term free agent contracts that were total busts causing long term budget issues, and he was a cheater resulting in sanctions on the ability to sign international prospects. C+ at best.
  13. DD clearly said that he had another move in mind until Cora made the request that Hanley be the one to go.
  14. He definitely doesn't look as good against lefties.
  15. And they don't get paid to represent Hanley, so I doubt that they care either.
  16. Don't forget Rusney Castillo's money.
  17. Baseball is hard enough that the players have to devote almost all of the energies into being able to hit the ball or get hitters out. Most don't even know the details of their own contracts, so I don't think they are concerned about Hanley's contract.
  18. Lineup looks flat today with no JD or Betts.
  19. I don’t think current or past players give a hoot about Hanley’s situation. With regard to the union, if they think their is a grievance, I am sure that they will notify Hanley. I don’t think they are going to give a public statement about it.
  20. I used to get paid quite a rich salary for researching such things. I no longer do such research unless it affects me directly. I'll leave this to the paid attorneys for Hanley and the Red Sox. It seems that the Red Sox think they are off the hook for the option.
  21. Why is Betts scratched?
