  1. But there is a price that you would be willing to part with for Manny Machado?
  2. What about manny Machado?
  3. LOL!! When I turn on the snark, I make an extra special effort to be right. So many people are snarky when they are wrong. It's a terrible look.
  4. I hope they wait until he is dominating AAA, before they bring him back up. He isn't ready.
  5. Get Beeks out of the game before it is a 1 run game.
  6. I was at his debut against the White Sox and it was a disaster.
  7. 2014 and 2015 were just bad. They were bad teams. Their flaws were glaring.
  8. I wasn't referring to the players individually as garbage. Each of them has been at best mediocre, and some are yet to develop enough to get to the Majors. Taken as a whole I do think we gave up a pile of garbage when compared to what we landed-- two elite studs (Kimbrel and Sale). It is a figure of speech.
  9. That doesn't sound hopeful for his return.
  10. Yes, how can we argue that the post season is a crap shoot, but root for 1 Championship for every 3 last place finishes? It is absurd. Let's not forget that those 4 years followed right on the heels of the September 2011 collapse, which might have been the most excruciating month of baseball in my lifetime. The wire to wire last place seasons were only less painful than a prison sentence in solitary. 2003-2008 was great baseball.
  11. It just doesn't work that way. If Tori Hunter's glove arm is 3 inches longer, there is no championship banner. Give me a post season team most year, and i will take my chances from there. And I will not have to suffer through excruciating 3 summers of last place.
  12. It was a 4th place team when they broke camp, and they under performed from there.
  13. I think Pearce has also played the OF.
  14. I am curious... and trying to be hopeful.
  15. Very snarky "I told you so" type post. Unfortunately for him, he didn't tell me anything. I thought your post was snarky and inaccurate which is why I pointed out the inaccuracy. I let you slide for the snark. And there is nowhere in that post where he says that JD is a good RFer. That's why I left out the language. Not to cherry pick. it was extraneous to his point which was that the analytics showed the OF alignment with JD in RF was the best.
  16. That's right. They aren't mutually exclusive. Spud was being sarcastic. there is no reason to finish last with a $200 million payroll while also restocking the farm.
  17. I don't think that would dismay cp176, since he never said that. He said:
  18. My sources are always solid.
  19. In the words of the immortal Casey Stengel who was asked about "tendering his resignation" to the Yankees after the 1961 season, he replied, "Resigned? Heck no, I was fired." As an employee benefits attorney for 30 years, in response to the notion of Ben not being fired, I'd sarcastically say "yeah right." The diminution of his responsibilities were such that any court would rule that he had been terminated and could invoke his Golden Parachute. The notion that he wasn't fired is ridiculous.
  20. I agree with you. When camp broke for 2014, it looked like a 4th place team. The holes in that roster were obvious by opening day.
  21. Is there a CFer or some other OFer with good offense who can be had for Bradley and little else. He just doesn’t seem close to achieving offensive consistency.
  22. i didn’t use the word injury, because I don’t even want to think about it. He is indispensable to this team.
  23. I assume that he needs some time to work himself into shape.
