    Except for the one guy who got banned, I don’t think Cora has gotten “crucified “ at all. He isn’t getting anything close to the criticism that was directed at Francona. That being said, discussion of whether he should have PH Moreland (an excellent career PHer and 2018 All Star) for Bradley doesn’t rise to the level of “crucifying”. Goodness what an overstatement.

    Moreland has been an excellent pinch hitter throughout his career. Unless he was hurt, it was big missed opportunity by Cora.

    On the commercial, Mookie says that his Dad is a Vietnam veteran. Mookie is only 25. Every Vietnam Vet that I know is 70 or older. His dad must have been pretty old when Mookie was born.

    Great stuff. There was another Home Run that Yaz hit that didn’t count. It was at the original Yankee Stadium. He hit a ball to RCF that Ron Woods kept for and fell into the stands. He knocked himself cold and Yaz rounded the bases. Bobby Murcer saw that Woods was unconscious and that the ball was a few feet away. As he waved for the trainer, Murcer put the ball in Wood’s glove. When the umps came out to see what was going on and they saw the ball in Woods glove, the ump called out Yaz. It was story that Murcer used to tell. I had watched that game on TV.     I liked that Cora addressed it. It is a fundamental of the game, but like even the most basic fundamental, it needs to be continually reinforced at the MLB level. When teams run like idiots, the manager needs to address it. In past seasons, I don’t think Farrell addressed it and it continued. Cora had to know and execute the fundamentals with precision as his talent was only borderline major league. If he started pulling rocks out there, he would have quickly been back in the bushes. Watching that kind of base running was probably like listening to nails on a blackboard for Cora.
