  1. Pudge was not coming near the plate with Big Papi bearing down on him with a full head of steam.
  2. Lowell hits one off his foot. Ouch!
  3. Station to station. We need a clutch hit from Lowell or a Sac Fly.
  4. I wonder if he has been hanging around Giambi's locker.:dunno:
  5. According to Rosenthal, the Sox are interested in Eric Hinske to platoon with Wily Mo in RF. Maybe Nixon is not close to returning, or maybe they just want a lefty bat off the bench. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/5879162
  6. But since he almost never walks anyone, 10 hits is not fatal. Mix 10 hits with 4 or 5 walks and you have a blowout. Wells pitched really well. He made 2 mistakes on the HRs.
  7. When did Ron Villone become Randy Myers?:wtf:
  8. He was safe. The ump still had tears in his eyes from the pre-game ceremony.
  9. I'll gladly admit that I was wrong. I tend to be a pessimist if you haven't noticed. I won't admit that I quit, because if I quit, I wouldn't be watching every game like a demented fool, and I won't change my user title, but I will gladly admit that I was wrong.
  10. This team need Francona to go "Ozzie Guillen' on them. Call them out and tell them that they stink. It worked for Ozzie last year as his team was collapsing. Leyland called his team out earlier in the year and it worked.
  11. Atleast they are getting a really solid effort from Wells to keep us in this game. He's having his second good outing in a row. We haven't had a starter have two good outings in a row in I don't know how long. This is what the pitching needs to do when the bats go silent. Up till now, our starters have let us get blown out and dug the offense huge holes to crawl out of.
  12. I thought Casey jacked it out.
  13. IBB to Ortiz. C'mon Manny. Make them pay.
  14. Tie game. An empty RBI by DFA.
  15. It would just be nice to win against a good team for a change.
  16. I went a little out of my way on the way home and went by Yankee stadium. I urinated on the new site to commemorate today's groundbreaking and for good luck.
  17. I haven't written them off since day one. I have been critical of this front office since the off-season, because they made a series of moves and non-moves that I disagreed with. I also think that there was chaos caused by the Theo's hissy fit and the FO power struggle. There's no neede to reiterate those disagreements. Just because I disagree with the FO job this year doesn't mean that I had written the team off from the beginning. That's just not true. However, when it came to crunch time and our boys needed reinforcements, the FO turned its back on this 2006 group and that's unfortunate. I didn't write them off my friend. The FO has clearly written them off.
  18. Boomer got pissed off about the 10 pitch at-bat.
  19. That's more realistic than optimistic.
  20. I was just trying to be helpful. He seems to be going down a very unhealthy path.
  21. Yes you can just feel the intensity in that state.
  22. We potentially have the best rotation: --if Lester can consistently go 6 or more --if Beckett can avoid big innings and homers --if Wells can consistently pitch like he did in his last start --if Wakefield can come back soon and be productive. There are just too many "ifs" for me. When you have that many "ifs' things don't usually work out very well. It reminds me of an old saying when somebody say "if this' and "if that" the response is "If the Queen had balls she'd be the King, and that ain't happening either."
  23. The only way our boys get to the playoffs is with a ticket.
  24. ANd your basis for this statement is?
