    I agree. They should back up the truck and load on the garbage, but the FO is gutless and will not hold a fire sale because they are too image conscious. This downward spiral into the toilet has been coming since before the All Star Break.

    What are we the3 freaken KC Royals? You are probably right. it could n't hurt to do this, because we are going nowhere. However, dumping these guys for prospecswould be an admission by te FO that this season was a farce. I don't think the FO is ready to be that honest. They are not willing to admit to the fans that they have given up on 2006 for some time.

    As a fan that supports this team with his wallet in a big way, I am a paying customer. making the paying customers happy should be a primary concern for the team. Your response of "it's not your money" is just so childish. My point is that Abreu at $17 million is a better value than garbage at $3 million. That would be my judgment if I was in control of their budget. We've thrown alot of $ around on garbage like Hinske, Johnson, Lopez, and Clement. When you start adding it up the garbage cost is quite high. Instead of buying all this garbage, I'd rather have a $17 million Abreu. That's the point. I think they made a mistake in judgment in valuing the garbage. The point is not that it is or isn't my money. That's such a childish response.

    Hinske=Toronto's Garbage He's not worth the $ even if Toronto picked up half of his salary. Abreu was a better value at $!7 million plus luxury tax etc.

    ARod with another DP with two on and no one out. Does he have more errors or DP's?

    Coco Crisp and Wily Mo have been total busts for the entire series. At least Crisp is hustling. It pissed me off that in the midst of this humiliation that he jogged in for Cano's ball and played it into a single. He's contributed nothing the entire weekend. The least he could do would be to hustle.

    Well, at this point, he's not a major league starter. If he can't pitch out of the pen he should be in the minors.

    Thank you. I will. It is one of those timeless classics that can be watched over and over because it is so perfect. It warms my heart that in that ALCS and in the WS we did things that the NY Skanks never did in all of their post-season and WS play.

    I guess that Dan is just another dumbass GM that doesn't want to sacrifice the future to win this year. He should wakre up and realize that the Tigers have been playing for the future since 1984. The time is now Dan. You could've had Loretta. Scmuck!

    But Marte still had top prospect status when we had him. He could've been moved for pitching that would've helped fill a hole. Instead he had to be sacrificed to fill a hole created by the FO letting Damon walk. What don't you get about that?

    Don't worry about your son. You couldn't stop him from being a Sox fan if you tried. My son was 10 years old in 1996 when the Yankees were winning the WS. I live in NY. I felt bad for my son because all of his friends were reveling in the Yankees while the Red Sox were steaming pile of s***. I told him that he could root for the Yankees, that he should have a good time with his friends and enjoy rooting for the Yankees. I told him that he didn't have to root for the Red Sox, because I did. I cautioned him that the Sox were certain to always break your heart. He looked at me and very seriously said "I can't root for the Yankees. I hate them." It was one of my proudest moments as a father. We shared the heart break of 2003, and my heart broke for the boy, but in 2004 we shared the "Ultimate " victory that made all the past suffering go away because it was so perfect. So, don't sweat it. It might take years but the pink hats and the posers will eventually go away, the diehards will retake Fenway and this team will get back to concentrating on putting out a winning team.

    The Red Sox rotation in 78 had Tiant, Eckersley (20 wins) and Torrez in the rotation. Each pitched more than 200 innings.

    The difference is that you had a talented underachieving team those years that got their s*** together at the end. The Red Sox have 2 maybe 2 1/2 starters and no bullpen. We're not stupid. We know when we have a bad team. Take pleasure in beating the corpse. It's pointless though, because a corpse feels no pain. Sorry to disappoint you.
