  1. Where has this been?
  2. Wily Mo hits one out.
  3. Someone should wake him up when he is snoring. BTW: Vlad is constantly making stupid baserunning mistakes.
  4. Open base and pitching to Vlad?
  5. I'd agree with you if the runner was on 3rd, but not second. The guy behind him is paid to drive the ball.
  6. Ortiz trying to put this team on his back. Sooner or later you would think his heroics would inspire more guys on this team.
  7. He should be hitting behind the runner, not swinging from the heels.
  8. It's borderline delusional to think this team can make the playoffs, and if they do make it by a miracle, they'll go 3 and out.
  9. I posted this on another thread. It won't make you feel any better about this team's direction, but it is a good sign that the print press is putting the FO on the grill. http://redsox.bostonherald.com/redSox/view.bg?articleid=154074
  10. It would really piss off Yankee fans if Wells were traded to the Mets.
  11. He's been a flop since winning ROY. If he could put up All Star numbers Toronto would have kept him in the starting lineup. Hitting .264 with 29 RBIs by the middle of August is getting any All Star votes from me.
  12. I'd be very surprised if Toronto traded V. Wells within the division, but unloading Hinske was like taking trash to the curb for someone else to pick up.
  13. Yes, beccause we have moved on from that and come to grips with the fact that our team sucks this year and very possibly next year as well. http://redsox.bostonherald.com/redSox/view.bg?articleid=154074 From today's Herald, Callahan paints a grim picture for 2007 and beyond.
  14. Your mind really can't operate on many levels.
  15. I would like to see the Mets beat the Yankees in the WS. This would destroy Yankee fans. With the choking collapse of 2004 still fresh in their minds and psyches, a loss to the Mets would send them into hiding to lick their freshly re-opened wounds. Yankee fans played the Ostrich with the head in the sand when we beat them because the presence of Red Sox fans in NYC is not at all prevalent, but to lose to the Mets and have to share the city with gloating Mets fans would be very enjoyable for me to witness.
  16. Of course you have moved on. Life doesn't stop, but the scars remain.
  17. You are starting to remember 2004 aren't you. Some doubt creeping in? Just when you thought the Red Sox were a corpse in 2004 they rose up and slowly steamrolled your team and fans into the turf. I still remember that jerk in the upperdeck at Yankee Stadium dressed as the ghost of Babe Ruth. Did he hurl himself out of the upperdeck? You will never be the same. We tell you the Sox are dead, but you are stll looking over your shoulder. The scars are deep.
  18. There's another saying: strike while the iron is hot.
  19. Thank you for bringing this up, because I was remiss in mentioning that we will probably also be watching Orlando Cabrera in the playoffs-- another aging declining player.
  20. I agree with you, but I don't see the FO as having the courage to do it.
  21. If all of our starters could have gone 7 innings in this series, the Red Sox would have won this series. The bullpen sucks, but we have needed the bullpen way too much because the starters can barely go 5.
  22. A fire sale in August would be an enormous embarrassment.
  23. Wow, you must still feel the pain. You should it 's a record. In more than 100 years it haqs never been done. I t was excruciating. Even the Homer Micahel Kay admitted that he got pyhyically ill watching the Red Sox celebrate on the hallowed ground of that toilet that was built for a former Red Sox pitcher. You may have seen a 4 champiuonships when you were still getting your second set of teeth, but ythe yankeeshave never inflicted pain on us like the Red Sox did on you in those 4 ALCS games.
  24. I agree. They should back up the truck and load on the garbage, but the FO is gutless and will not hold a fire sale because they are too image conscious. This downward spiral into the toilet has been coming since before the All Star Break.
  25. What are we the3 freaken KC Royals? You are probably right. it could n't hurt to do this, because we are going nowhere. However, dumping these guys for prospecswould be an admission by te FO that this season was a farce. I don't think the FO is ready to be that honest. They are not willing to admit to the fans that they have given up on 2006 for some time.
