    The only pundits that really count are the ones that set odds in Vegas. I don't think the Sox were a longer shot than the Jays at the beginning of the year. Anyway, you are correct that the team didn't look great coming out of ST, but that's not an excuse. Theo didn't just run this team into the ground since July 31st. The process of running the current team into the ground has been a two year odyssey resulting from numerous bad moves and non-moves.

    Terry is making excuses for Timlin. Just realize that he is a shot pitcher.

    It's just displaced anger. People are upset that the Red Sox look worse than the Royals and they go beserk over punctuation. The anger should be directed at the FO and in particular Theo who ran this team into the ground. Also, Tito has cracked under the pressure and can no longer think straight during the game. The more Coco plays the more he gets exposed as a terrible fielder with no arm at all. If the FO goes into next season with him as the CF and leadoff hitter, we will be in for even more disappointment.

    I like the analogy, but even if we had the ingredients, we lack a competent chef/manager to combine the ingedients and cook the meal.

    Boomer hadn't thrown 100 pitchers. He was dealing beautifully. He should have come out for the 8th with Papelbon backing him up. Going to Timlin was just so ridiculous. He stayed with him after the HR-- that was bad enough, but then he stayed with him after the next guy got on. It was time to get him before he could throw away the game.

    He doesn't fit the mold that JH is looking for. He likes these media friendly/professional types like Tito and Theo. Duke got fired because he had the reputation of being a prick with the press. A fiery type like Sweet Lou would never get the approval of a sissy like JH.

    I still can't believe that Tito didn't go ape-s*** and do an Earl Eaver over that call at 3B. I just don't get it. One of the umps had to see the bobble.
