    It's not looking bleak. It's horrendous. One complete game. They are tied for last in CG and shutouts.

    No one is screaming for their heads. It's one thing not to scream for their heads, and it is another thing entirely to give them a free pass. They don't deserve a free pass. At best they made several mistakes. At worst, they did a terrible job. They are 9 games over .500 and slipping. That's not good. Ninth in winning % and slipping, but second in payroll. It seems like our FO has been outmaneuvered by 7 other management teams.

    You can't lay this all off on Timlin. He didn't give up all 17 hits. He's the best they got and that's pathetic. Were you asleep as they paraded one steaming heap of dung after another to the mound.

    I can understand what Tavarez said. I don't boo the players because they stink. I'll boo them if they just go through the motions. Tavarez is a highly emotional guy who cares. He makes the effort,but he hasn't been very good. I really couldn't understand where Youk was coming from. Did he really think the same fans that cheered Tavarez were the ones that had been booing him all year. What was the point of hoping that he would not acknowledge the cheers? I was really shocked by his attitude. It struck me as naive.

    As you point out, the pitching woes didn't just happen. Lester came up way before he was ready. Wells didn't pitch from the opening week. The FO put together a staff that was held together with rubber bands and bubble gum from the beginning. Although we had injuries, the lack of preparation by the FO resulted in the pitching staff becoming a humiliation. There's no excuse for the pitching we are witnessing. I've lived through some of the cheapest most incompetent management teams, and I can't remember pitching this bad.

    I've never seen worse piles of crap sent to the mound on a daily basis by a Red Sox team. It's one steaming pile after another. It's unbelievable. I can't believe that they spent $120+ million on this team. Someone should audit their books.

    The whole episode was an embarassment for the FO. There's no way around that. What he did was unprofessional and damaging to the organization and it's offseason plans. It has nothing to do with bias. Pwer plays can be made on the inside of any organization. Quitting only to come back without a contract is a hissy fit. He achieved nothing.
