  1. She's a Yankee fan so she's fair game. I'd give the same treatment to Mother Theresa is she was a Yankee fan on this site. Don't worry Optimist can take it, unlike some of the more hysterical Skankee fans. Also, she quoted me in her signature for a few weeks, which I took as a compliment.
  2. The difference is that I expect people to react harshly or in a nasty manner when I bait them or break their chops. I don't whine about how terrible you bad people are. Most of my arguments and skirmishes are with other Red Sox fans on these boards. You need to stop your whining. The Yankee fans on these boards are not smart enough, nor do they argue well enough to generate a really hot argument, so get over yourselves.
  3. It seems that Boston coaches and management are not at all happy about Wily Mo's fielding or his work habits regarding his fielding. Chances are that he will be barely adequate in RF. Nixon has always been a good OF, and he is still one of the best fielding RF's. I hope he is around next year in a platoon capacity.
  4. Oh, so you were referring to Red Sox fans. You are glad that the awful Red Sox fans had to endure watching their team lose. Those awful Red Sox fans like that little kid with cancer that sings the national anthem on Opening Day. Maybe you are generalizing a bit. Also, maybe you should consider that people, even nice people, do not react well to gloating, baiting and ball-breaking. Go crawl back under your rock with the rest of the Yankee fan vermin.
  5. Yes, the Red Sox are awful people. How well do you know them?
  6. Has anyone who hit more than 50 HRs to lead the leagues and also won the RBI title not won the tne MVP?
  7. Has anyone with 54 HRs that led the league in HRs not been that year's MVP?
  8. I have forgotten more about this game than you know.
  9. For you stupid posts are not merely a habit, they are a certainty.
  10. I'd want a picture of me presenting Ortiz with the ball to go in the next year's Red Sox Year Book. I'd also want an autographed bat and ball.
  11. Why should the people of Boston give Citgo the free advertising. I don't think Venezuela fas operated the sign since the 80's
  12. Well if you want to get down to stats, there are many more situations when the winning run is on first, second or at the plate than on 3rd base. Also, the only time a pitcher might possibly want to face Ortiz with the winning run on third would be with 2 outs. With no out or one out, the pitcher would fear Ortiz, because he is more likely to drive the ball far enough to get the runner in. So let's recap. All pitchers would fear Ortiz more than Jeter if the winning run was on any base with less than 2 out; all pitchers would fear facing Ortiz more than Jeter with the winning run on first, second or at the plate with 2 out; and not all pitchers would fear Ortiz more than Jeter if the winning run was on third and 2 outs. In conclusion, Ortiz is more feared than Jeter in clutch situations.
  13. ...and you are from what planet?
  14. If the Phillies get the WC the point is moot, but if they don't you will still not hear the argument that he's not worthy, because he's not up against the Yankees and their media machine.
  15. They didn't win the division with a win on the field. They clinched on a loss of the second place team-- commonly known as backing in. I did congratulate you on it, so what's your problem?:dunno:
  16. A nonresponsive post from an idiot.
  17. His team will be eliminated. It will finish further out in their division than the Red Sox, and his defense is a minus for his team. The Phillies would be better off if he was a DH. BTW: When the Phillies get eliminated, you still won't hear anything negative about him being the MVP
