  1. I think he'll go to another contender after the season. He knows that NY is biased in favor of Jeter, and that no matter what he does, he'll never achieve the prominence he craves in NY.
  2. With the respect Jeter commands among the fans and in the clubhouse, if he had just expressed that the fans and media should be patient, because ARod is a great player that would helped ARod through his tough time. This type of statement that he continues to make is not the supportive act of a team captain. He is acting petty through this thing. ARod has not created any controversy. He's never asked to play SS. In fact, when Jeter couldn't play, ARod said he didn't want to play SS. He was staying clear of creating any controversy, and let's face it, ARod is more comfortable at SS than 3B and he's a better SS than Jeter.
  3. It would be nice if Lester were ready to hold down a rotation spot and give more than 4 or 5 innings.
  4. I don't think ARod likes his treatment in NY--- Jeter has acted like a dick, Torre has turned the cold shoulder, a cheating fat loser like Giambi has taken shots at him, and the Press and fans have killed him. I could see him opting out after this year, and I would love to have this guy playing SS, his natural position.
  5. He's like Mario Cuomo was every four years as the press asked him if he would be running for President. He was a crappy governor with only one speech in his repertoire, so they stopped asking after a while. When they stopped asking, he started hinting at it to start the rumor mill. At least Clemens can pitch. Cuomo was a bum who made a politcal deal to get his half-wit son in politics.
  6. I meant INS... I think-- Immigratiuon and Naturalization Service?
  7. Crap! That's the one game I'll miss while I am down there. I'll be picking up my kids from the airport for the evening game. I really wanted to see his debut.
  8. He's a condescending prick. I see him turning ever more bitter each year. He's starting to remind me of Dick Young the NY writer that got so embittered that he personalized his battles against NY sports figures. He helped run Tom Seaver out of town. That is his legacy. Maybe Daring Dave will succeed in running Manny out of town and we can watch him break Bonds all-time HR record while playing for the Yankees. We'll never be able to run Shaunnessy out of town, because he is a hack writer that could never get a better job than the one he has. Why can't he enjoy the fact that he makes a pretty good living watching and writing about baseball. He's as bad as the rich ungrateful athletes that he writes about. At least the athletes have talent.
  9. It's more likely that you beat something else with your right hand.
  10. I don't need a reason to hate Yankees. The pinstripes are enough. I'm just stating a fact about Gehrig. He was a star professional ballplayer that lived with his mommy into his 30's. That makes him a momma's boy in my book.
  11. I'm at the point where as much as I would like Clemens arm in the rotation I think his return to Boston would be like a circus sideshow. I wouldn't shed a tear if he remains retired.
  12. http://redsox.bostonherald.com/redSox/view.bg?articleid=183604 This has to help. He needs to be fit. A short, fat second baseman with no pop and limitet skills was not going to cut it. Carrying less weight should help him with his range and speed.
  13. Wakefield has performed well in long relief in the past. He would definitely help the pen.
  14. He was a momma's boy that caught a real bad break.
  15. You can't trust a word that comes out of his mouth.
  16. I like dead Yankees, so Joe D. (although he was a scumbag while he was alive), Mantle (a nasty drunk) and Gehrig (a pathetic Mama's Boy) are all okay wih me. I must confess that the Scooter made me laugh and Berra was a star who was totally devoid of arrogance and ego, so I always liked him. He went way up in my estimation by refusing to set foot in Yankee Stadium until the Boss apologized.
  17. Whatever he had left he left on the field in'04. He was never the same afterward. Thanks Keith. You were outstanding that year and especially in the post-season. You were the glue of that post-season staff.
