  1. So they will be skipping Wake's turn entirely not just pushing him back a day or so.
  2. I don't think we should draw too many conclusions from that. The lees than impressive Hughes was pitching tonight and the Yanks offense had a let down after a very important series against the Red Sox.
  3. Bruney, another Jenny Craig candidate, is pitching for the Yankees. Rays 8- Yankkes 1 mid 8th
  4. It might be Bucholz.
  5. I'd just appreciate the stat, and please get out of my head.
  6. Who is the Sox pitching for Sox tomorrow?
  7. I apprecaite that you answered the question instead of responding with an irrelevant fact like the response from another poster. Thank you. While his current average is .289, I think he is hitting below .2650 since the middle of June, but I don't know the exact figure.
  8. Score one for you under the column titled "Obvious"
  9. Timlin has been better than I expected this year.
  10. Are you their Comptroller? What do you know about their finances? Nothing.
  11. It doesn't affect a box score. Plus, the Sox would not have had to take $15 million of salary, and Youk could have brought a nice return if they moved him at the deadline.
  12. Youk is below .250. Edit: but what's 30 or 40 points
  13. Britton gets taken deep by Carlos Pena for a 6-1 lead. The Yankees have quite a few relief pitchers that need Jenny Craig.
  14. Against a AA pitcher.
  15. This lineup sucks. Wake is not pitching, so why are we getting Cash. He swings with his eyes closed.
  16. I am sorry I didn't realize that by using Youkilis's lack of speed as an example of an observation that could be made on the spot was tantamount to hating the guy. I like his work ethic. I think he gets the most out of his talent. He has great discipline and has made himself into an above average fielder. Does that sound like I hate the guy? That being said, he is slow. Pedroia and him joke about who is slower. Of course, each of them thinks the other one is slower. His power is also limited especially to the opposite field. There you have it. I guess I despise him. I am sorry if the term base-clogger offends you, but it's just the way that I refer to slow guys. Nothing personal against Youk, beccause the Red Sox have a long tradition of base-cloggers. My all-time favorit base-clogger was Hall of Famer Wade Boggs. I despised him and all his batting titles. Some of you really over react here. I said that I hadn't seen Crisp in a while and he got a terrible jump the first game that I got back to Fenway and you all conclude that I am calling him a terrible fielder. It was an observation in response to posts that he had improved his jumps this year. For the record, he got excellent jumps today and the sun didn't seem to give him much trouble today. I think he is a good fielder, and if his jumps have improved he would be an above average fly catcher. As has been pointed out, I have only seen him twice in the last couple of months, so I won't render an opinion one way or another. I will be seeing more of him for the remainder of the season. However, IMO he is not a gold glove caliber OF because he has a very weak and inaccurate arm. IMO you need a good arm to be considered GG caliber. Maybe you have a different opinion. However, observing that Crisp has a weak arm doesn't mean I hate him. It just means that I think he has a weak arm. I think it is an accurate observation. He is hitting line drives all over the place which is a really good thing, but he has a "noodle arm". If you want to call him "noodle arm" to mock me tomorrow when he gets a hit, feel free to engage in your childish behavior.
  17. BTW ORS Edit: ORS, did you check out Damon's Yankee Stadium HRS? I know you couldn't resist. How many would not have gone out of Fenway? I think my observation was pretty good, and the stats back me up. I prefer it that way where the stats are used to confirm my observations. I trust my eyes more than the stats. I use stats for the NL which I don't watch very much.
  18. I can. It's a funny thing about statistical analysis though. You can get them to show just about anything. I don't agree with certain types of stats as indicators. I don't think OPS is the be all and end all as a measure of performance' date=' especially for #2 hitter who I want hitting the other way and sacrificing to move runners over. For them, I prefer OBP. Sorry, but that's just me. Cute. I can't believe you took the time to type this.
  19. Based on the time of your post, I'll cut you some slack and assume you were hammered. My "despise of a player"... a Red Sox player... in favor of two Yankee players? Do you realize how ridiculous that sounds?
