  1. Who is pitching for the Yankees tomorrow. Kennedy is listed, but I thought I heard something about him not starting tomorrow. Can anyone confirm?
  2. It's been uncanny. When they played the Tigers, Sheffield misses all 8 games, Manny missed all but one of six games, Hafner missed all three games, and now Wells will miss all 4 games.
  3. Where is Vernon Wells?
  4. Where is Vernon Wells?
  5. Do we have to see fatboy's father in his wheelcahir everytime he is at a Yankee game? How long will this be a story?

  7. I think that we match up better against LA than Cleveland.
  8. We are going to the playoffs one way or another. The extra home game is nice, but right now it is a toss up who we would play in the first round whether or not we win the division. Cleveland has a better a record than LA right now by 1/2 game. If we win the division we would draw LA. I am really on the fence about who I'd rather face. Sabathia is very tough on us as is Carmona. That could really silence our offense in a 5 game series. We do much better against Lackey and the LA starters. The Yankees match up better against Cleveland. What do you think?
  9. It was in 2004. It was sweet to celebrate at the big ballpark in the Bronx.
  10. That's a possibility. I hope Tito doesn't get a case of MacNamara Veteran-itis. This is coming from a guy who favors experienced players over inexperienced. I hate the inconsistency of the knuckleball. I also hate chokers like Gagne. You would think that getting the first two out would have given him some confidence.
  11. It's better to find out now that we can't rely on Gagne in the playoffs. This could be a blessing in disguise. Maybe th FO and Francoma will open their eyes and realize that Bucholz could be a reliable late inning option for the playoffs-- similar to K-Rod in 2002.
  12. When a guy loses his release point so drastically on the fastball, isn't a good idea to call for a breaking pitch?
  13. Once the bases were loaded, Papelbon should have been in the game for a 4 out save. WTF was Francona thinking?
  14. Why is a Rookie like Moss getting PT? Is kielty still hurt?
  15. Gagne's three meltdowns have been absolutely awful. He's looked like a rookie s***ing his pants under pressure. I have a hard time believing that this guy was ever a big time closer. He was missing his spots by a foot in every direction.
  16. If the Red Sox miss the division by 3 or less games, it's directly attributable to the 3 meltdowns from Gag-me. He has added absolutely nothing. What a bust of an acquisition. Our once strong bullpen isn't looking so good right now.
  17. Joe going to Mo in the 9th inning of an 8-4 game with two outs and two on. Mo threw 29 pitches last night. Stupid move by Clueless Joe. Detroit lost tonight, and he has a cakewalk schedule the rest of the way, but he is playing this like it is a World Series game. I don't get it, but it makes me happy that he is wearing out his biggest weapon. BTW: Huff has great #'s against Mo.
  18. I was in Vegas this week. At times I will bet on the Yankees when they are hot. I almost never bet on the Sox. I like to bet with my head and not my heart. I like every other Sox fan wanted to vomit after that game. NY ers out there were hoping for a carryover effect, and even the bookies had the Sox as underdogs on Saturday. Well, after having lost a bunch of games in a row to the Yanks, including a devastating loss on Friday that blew out the bullpen who could blame them for making the red hot Yanks the favorites. I too had a pit in my stomach going into the game, but then I thought, "wait a minute..they have us as a dog in our house with our ace going?" Then I thought we had to win one of the 3 and Saturday was probqably our best bet. I placed a large wager on the Sox for me, and I ordered a double vodka when Jeter hit the first inning homer. My head was right and my gut/heart was wrong. So, am I worried? Hell yes! But my head tells me that if we don't win tomorrow and the next day, we will one of them. Also, we should clean the table against Tampa over the weekend, and at some point before Sunday, the yankees will lose one or two games. It feels better when I realize that my gut is not at all rationale.
  19. Our boys will get them tomorrow.
  20. When the World Series $ meant something to the veterans, they really got into guys for doing things like this. Today, I don't think it is the same. At least you don't hear stories like the story from Enos Slaughter who in his rookie year walked back to the dugout and a veteran told him that if he was tired he could go back to the bushes. Slaughter said that from that day on he hit the top step of the dugout running onto and off the field.
  21. Stupid rookie move by Ellsbury down by 5 runs in the 9th inning. Gone are the days when a veteran would get in a kid's face to make sure he would never do it again.
  22. The guy from the gym may be sorry some day. I had a friend from Brooklyn-- a real street guy. I am from Brooklyn, and I can tell you that this guy was tough. I never found out what he did for a living, but I know that it was on the wrong side of the law. He made the mistake of going to a NY Rangers- Islanders game at MSG in an Islanders Jersey. He was sitting in the blue seats with his friend, a Rangers fan and season ticket holder. He was told to take off the Jersey if he wanted to stay. He told them that he would not take off the Jersey and that they would have to take it off him. Well...they did. He got a good beat down and was thrown down a flight of stairs shirtless, and to add insult to injury he got was removed by security along with his Ranger fan friend who also got two black eyes. This gym guy may be tough, but there is always a tougher guy(s) out there waiting for you.
