  1. The butchered play in CF leads to a big Yankees inning and lead.
  2. Upton just butchered a ball in CF and while Manny butcherd one in LF.
  3. If 4 eyes gets a hit, Beckett is in trouble
  4. Hard single by Clayton to RF to make it 2-0 Jays.
  5. The last two guys crushed the ball off Beckett. Edit 1-0 Jays
  6. Crisp has a lot of trouble seeing the ball in day games. IMO that was not a deke.
  7. 3-0 Tampa with 1st and 3rd and 2 outs in the second inning.
  8. Not good table setting by Crisp and Cora.
  9. Josh takes care of his nemesis, Vernon Wells.
  10. Yankees down 2-0 after 1 inning. It could have been worse but Melky threw behind Harris rounding second base with only one out.
  11. Donnelly's recurring forearm problem is very discouraging. The possibility that he may not be able to return this year is becoming more probable. The FO is in a position where strengthening the bullpen is a must even if MDC does continue to perform well. Who is availble---Lidge, Dotel? Anyone else?
  12. Welcome Josh!
  13. The .260 hitting Coco is in no position to refuse to take a seat in favor of Griffey. As for Drew, he seems to find plenty of excuses not to play on his own.
  14. Of these, I like Jon Garland and Millwood the best. Millwood is probably cheaper in terms of $ and prospects. Vasquez and Contreras scare me. Bannister is unproven and Greinke is unproven and he has emotional issues that might not be best suited for the microscope of Boston.
  15. We are two weeks from the trading deadline, so realistically they barely have time to experiment with one of the options other than a trade. The 4th and 5th slots will come around 3 more times before the deadline. We've gotten as much out of Tavarez as we can expect. I can't see riding him down the stretch, but we are probably forced to keep him in the 5 hole until Schilling comes back. We can't continue with s*** in the 4th and 5th holes any longer. That would be like forfeiting 6 games in the next two weeks. That puts too much pressure on the bullpen and also on the other starters who will be digging deeper to give the pen a rest. If this continues, it could snowball and effect the performance of the entire staff. I think they need to get a reliable starter, and they need to get him now. I really would n't mind seeing Millwood in the rotation. We should be able to get him very cheaply. IMO it would be a mistake if the FO tries to get by with what it has until Schilling comes back. If they don't look to the outside, they don't have many options. Piniero is very inconsistent. Snyder is consistent, but he's good only for 3-4 innings and then the wheels come off. Lester is a 5 inning pitcher.
  16. Manny and Papi got the big key hits tonight.
  17. Five runs off Halladay. We can't whine about Wake's run support if we lose this game.
  18. I hate the knuckleball. Back to back HRs by Stairs and Rios. the lead is only 5-4.
  19. I have been critical of the jumps that Crisp gets on ball, but I haven't seen him in person since April. I have been hearing that he has improved in this aspect. With regard to raw speed, I've seen them both leg out triples in person, and I can't see much of a difference. They are both damn fast.
  20. The article states that Crisp also has been timed in the 40 at 4.2, so I don't know how you or anyone else could declare that Ellsbury is the fastest Red Sox player until/if Crisp gets traded.
