    Here's my post last night before the bottom of the 9th. http://www.talksox.com/forum/303273-post649.html I was very worried that we had blown out all the bullpen arms in going for the kill and they wouldn't be available for game 5 and maybe innefective for games 6 and 7. That's what happened to the 2004 Yankees. Torre burned his pen and continued to burn them in game 5. he had nowhere to turn in games 6 and 7. We have Beckett. The yanks had no one like that, but Beckett would probably have had to go 8.

    If you look at him objectively (that's tough for yankee fans when it comes to Jeter), he has lost a step. His range is already very limited. In 2 years, that step will not come back. He's more likely to lose another half step or whole step.

    More great news for Red Sox fans. He is a hot headed guy with little patience. That should work in NY. Mattingly will now go home to Nebraska or whereever he calls home. The only thing that concerns me is that the Yankees will be getting rid of both Black clouds (ARod and Matingly) at the same time.

    I agree that if they offer Cano or Wang, they'll have a really good chance of geting Santana, but that would significantly change the future of your team. I don't see the Yankees offering Cano or Wang in any trade. Without that, I don't see your organization as having anything they would be willing to offer to get Santana. You are not going to get him with a tractor trailer load of Yankee relics and collectibles from the old stadium.

    It's been a great, great season, but one word of caution. Watch out for Yankee fans jumping off ledges. They would like nothing more than to take out a happy Red Sox fan with their last sick act.
