We are just posting our thoughts on the ceremonies. Why would that ruin anything for anyone? I thought it was a ridiculous over the top ceremony full of saccharin sentimentality lapped up by a bunch of nostalgic fools. ... but that's just me. I was at Carl Yastrzemski day in 1983. That was nostalgic and sentimental, because we would never see him play again. Next year, the Yankees will play on a field with 90 foot bases and home plate will be 60'6' from the pitching rubber. The dimensions of the field will be the same, so I just don't get the nostalgia. When Jeter or Mo hangs em up, I'll understand the sentimentality and the nostalgia. With regard to this Cathedral crap, it's just a bunch of self indulgent sentimentality.
