  1. Lowrie is soiling his shorts.
  2. Kotsay is this years version of Gagne. He's done a couple of good things in the first week, but at least we were able to bury Gagne in the pen. Kotsay is playing everyday due to the other injuries.
  3. Things are not breaking their way tonight. The ball that hit the ump and Youk's ball missed going out by a foot.
  4. He'll shut up until the playoffs, then give him a short leash.
  5. Let him stay. As soon as the Sox clinch, he'll disappear.
  6. Dude, the Yankees are the s*** team.
  7. There's the pop up. Why not PH for him?
  8. He has to at least try to foul that off. Now here is a pop up with kotsay.
  9. Smart move walking Bay to get to the struggling Lowrie.
  10. Varitek was running with his head down or was it the third base coach who messed up.
  11. Why isn't Crisp playing against the lefty instead of automatic out Kotsay?
  12. Right now they are pissing me off. This kid is taking the Red Sox line up to school.
  13. We are just posting our thoughts on the ceremonies. Why would that ruin anything for anyone? I thought it was a ridiculous over the top ceremony full of saccharin sentimentality lapped up by a bunch of nostalgic fools. ... but that's just me. I was at Carl Yastrzemski day in 1983. That was nostalgic and sentimental, because we would never see him play again. Next year, the Yankees will play on a field with 90 foot bases and home plate will be 60'6' from the pitching rubber. The dimensions of the field will be the same, so I just don't get the nostalgia. When Jeter or Mo hangs em up, I'll understand the sentimentality and the nostalgia. With regard to this Cathedral crap, it's just a bunch of self indulgent sentimentality.
  14. What about Torre (4 championships) being omitted and Tony Kubek (3 Championships and 7 World Series) being omitted at SS in favor of Stick Michael (zero Championships or WS) ? Such senimentality by Yankee management as long as you never butted heads with them. If you did, they cut you out of the official team history like Stalinists.
  15. They were clearly in the market for a RF. They had the first shot at Abreu. Because they did not land Abreu, they pursued Drew.
  16. It's a building. It has no meaning to me at all. The new ballpark will be called Yankee Stadium and will be across the street. The field dimensions will be identical and the new stadium will be better in every way. This self-indulgent nostalgia was a brilliant move by the Yankee organization to make tons of money on events like last evening and memorabilia like seats etc. Management has no emotional attachment to the stadium, but they played the nostalgia card on their sucker fans. I have no emotional attachment to Fenway. If a new improved ballpark with identical field dimensions could be built across the street and it would be called Fenway Park, I'd be first on the line to swing the wrecking ball. It's just a building.
  17. I am in complete agreement. It is not the original stadium. That lasted 50 years. The new stadium lasted 32 years. BFD. They are moving across the street and the new place is going to be called Yankee Stadium. If it was such hallowed ground, they should have continued to play there. To me the night should have been called "Relics and Rubble." Trotting out relics like Moose Skowron...who cares? BTW Was Tony Kubek there? I didn't notice him. I guess the Steinbrenners are still mad at him because he refused to be a Yankee shill. If so, it wasn't very classy to continue a grudge against on of your past champions.
