The Rays will not play .500 ball unless they get some bullpen help. Getting 4 good innings from that atrocious pen was too much for maddon to expect.

Garza only went 5 innings. Tampa has to get 4 innings from its pen. This still has the potential for the Yankees to win in a blowout.

They give Padilla another out by getting thrown out on the bases. If he only has to get two outs each inning, he will be hard to beat.

Controversy at Yankee Stadium. Mo says he wanted to pitch to Longoria, because he was cold coming off the bench. Girardi had Longoria walked to face Upton. Also, CC was not pleased with being lifted after the 8th. It's only a matter of time before Girardi alienates half of the team.

If Longoria plays today, I am calling a 450 foot shot off Joba. I want to see Joba's fist pump after that.

Good outing by Smoltz tonight for Pawtucket. 6 innings 1 hit 1 run 2 BB 3 K's One more rehab start and he'll be up with the big team.

This guy Salty is the guy that so many people wanted to replace Tek? he's hitting the same .248 with a lower OBP than Tek and only 5 HRs. In that AB he looked like an old Tek.

Green has trouble with high octane. The top of the order should chew up this kid and spit him out the next time around.

Varitek .248 and 10 HRs. Before the season started, I'd have signed up for him to have those numbers at this juncture.
