  1. Swisher runs himself into the first out of the inning. He just suck all around.
  2. a second crushing shot against lester. Lester continues to give up a lot of HRs this season.
  3. ... or he could be done.
  4. He got a taste. He learned while he was here, but he is not ready to be a consistent contributor. He'll be back soon enough, either because of injury or trade. Right now, if I were managing, he would be my last option in the bullpen. Saito would be ahead of him. I wouldn't be in a rush to trade Saito unless there is an overwhelming offer. He has experience closing games. He is a seasoned vet with good stuff. He healthy and he's cheap. The guy is a tremendous value. The Sox have more time for Bard to develop.
  5. I think they will option Bard to the minors.
  6. I think you need a little speed to hit .400.
  7. There has been no commitment to a 6 man rotation. They have talked about separating starts by pitchers who are more likely to tax the bullpen. Any 6 man rotation would be temporary. Someone will fall out of that rotation after a few turns based on poor performance or due to a trade.
  8. He should give them part of his salary.
  9. He would crush her. She is just about 5 feet tall tipping the scales at about 100 lbs. He's about 6'5" 260 or 270.
  10. I prefer "Swims with Toasters"
  11. Few players in history have achieved what he has from 2003- 2007. I can't think of any players that maintained that level of performance for more than a few years.
  12. It looks like the rumors of David Ortiz's baseball death might have been premature. When Lowrie gets activated, it will be a shame if Green gets cut. He has performed well above expectations. He has contributed to so many big wins with his bat, and despite too many errors, he has made some very big plays in the. Field.
  13. Can he be optioned to the minors without being DL'd? He's only a third year player.
  14. They changed his mechanics because he was not consistent with the command of his fastball, not because of injury concerns.
  15. He might have to steal a few laptops to help him make ends meet until he gets called up.
  16. There are only six division leaders, and the Red Sox are one of them. Most teams stink. Being with an organization like Boston, gives a pitcher a better chance of succeeding when he makes it to the majors than he would have with most other teams. With a strong Red Sox team in 2008, Bucholz stunk out the joint. He wasn't unlucky. He was bad, very bad. Even if he has worked out his troubles in AAA, he would be likely to experience alot of failure in the rotations of teams like the Marlins and the Natinals. He's lucky to be with the Red Sox and to be highly regarded by their FO. He'll get his shot soon enough. His career got derailed by his own terrible performance when he was given a shot. He should shut his trap and do his work so that when he gets his shot he has a better chance of succeeding.
  17. I posted this in another thread: If they get some double headers later in the summer, he might get called up for a start or two. He probably will get a start or two in September. Other than that, he'll get his shot at the rotation next year. He really can't complain that he has done everything he needs to do, because he spit the bit big time when he was handed the job last year. That was his fault. His failure caused the FO to make other plans and commitments for this season, because they couldn't rely on him. Those are one year commitments. He'll get another shot next year. If he keeps his head on straight maybe he won't blow it again next year.
  18. Taking two of three from the Mets has probably given Girardi some breathing room. That makes me happy. If the mets had swept the Yanks, he'd probably have been fired on Monday after dropping 6 in a row to the Sox and the Mets. I want Girardi in that Yankee dugout.
  19. I think Bard is much more advanced at this stage than Delcarmen was, and Delcarmen has developed into a pretty good pitcher. He's not as advanced as papelbon, but very few take the league by storm like Papelbon did a an early age.
