I watched the game in a bar in the heart of NYC. It seemed that only the Red Sox fans were watching. There was not an ounce of interest or excitement by Yankee fans even when they took the lead. A funny thing happened in the 8th. When Drew got the hit that cut the Yankee lead to 1, a lot of people got up and left. I asked one of the guys (Yankee fan) why he was leaving. He answered that he had had enough of this s***. He didn't even seem to be watching the game the entire night. I guess that was the case with a lot of them. They were watching the game in an almost surreptitious manner, and when they saw the big burn coming, they bolted for the door like rats deserting a sinking ship. I thought it was interesting how several years of failure and a couple of Red Sox championships have modified the behavior of Yankee fans. They are now very subdued, almost meek in the presence of Red Sox fans. It is a pleasant change from their obnoxious days. I don't let them forget that the Yankees are our bitches now and then I watch them run away with their tails between their legs. Good times! Good times!
