    Don't we have Lowell under contract for another year. I'm not so sure that VMart is a big upgrade over Lowell.

    I am convinced that another deal is coming. There's no room for Youkilis, Lowell, Ortiz, VMart, and LaRoche, even if VMart catches half the games.

    I know that I have been critical of Buchholz, but I think we'd be selling him cheap for VMart.

    It just seems that they are hell bent on getting Gonzalez, even though they don't need a first baseman. I don't think SD was openly shopping him. It seems like we targeted him. Why not target HanRam? At least he is a SS. As for pitching, I wouldn't mind seeing Haren in Fenway if Halladay is not available.

    The Sox have two first baseman-- Youkilis and LaRoche. They have two third baseman -- Youkilis and Lowell. Why the focus on Adrien Gonzalez? I have to ask. Is this the FO being reactive to losing out on Tex? It seems that way to me. This team doesn't need a first baseman. It needs pitching, an OFer or a SS.
