  1. Cust walks to load the bases with one out.. You've got to be kidding.
  2. 3-2 on Cust now! These guys are hackers. Make them hack!
  3. How does he walk O'Cab and go 3-1 on Nomar back to back? Now, he has his work cut out for him.
  4. I really hate him getting picked off with no one out and the 2,3, and 4 guys coming up. It's just stupid.
  5. Didn't Manny state that he had passed all his prior drug tests? So, now he is a liar too.
  6. I'd be surprised if any Dominican player was using. They all seem to train at the same place and under the supervision of the same trainer who got nailed for Roid distribution.
  7. Drew is hot now. You throw the other numbers out the window and ride the hot streak. Slumping Bay should have sat for Baldelli last night.
  8. Welcome!!
  9. If Joba's recent performances keep the Yankees out of the Halladay sweepstakes, I'll be very happy, especially if the Sox land him. After the trading deadline Joba's shoulder will tear apart like Wang's.
  10. Since 2002, the only year that the team has not made the playoffs -- 2006-- was the only year tha the FO did not make a move.
  11. 6 runs should have been enough against these pukes, but it wasn't. When the lineups e posted, I was pissed that Drew was sitting. A number of you posted that Drew doesn't hit lefties well, that Baldelli hits lefties well, and that Drew is 0-3 against Anderson. Drew appears to be coming out of his slump. The other night he was right on everything even against lefties. His 0-3 against Anderson was in the midst of his slump and the team had only 2 hits against him. When Drew is hot, he can carry the team. I don't believe in strict platoons. If you want to get Baldelli into a game, it would have been better sit a slumping Bay. Baldelli got his usual 1 hit and Bay took the collar. Managing by strict platoons and formulas is a cop out. Any monkey can be trained to push a button. If Drew is entering a hot streak, he needs to be in the lineup. As for being mad at Penny, he is our # 3 starter. Smoltz is worse and Buchholz is an unreliable unrefined rookie. The rotation sucks right now, and there is little help on the horizon. Dice K is more than a month away. Masterson doesn't look like the answer. Wakefield will be welcomed back, but he is only one guy and we have 3 bad slots right now. This rotation is not very good right now. It probably is not good enough to provide the strong finish that will be needed. As for the offense, let's not kid ourselves. One big bat is not going to cure the ills of this offense. Last night we had two Pittsburgh Pirates and a Tampa cast off with an incurable medical condition in the lineup together with a guy with a bad hip, a catcher with one foot in the grave, and a .130 SS. We root for these guys, but they are just not that good.. Bay is no Manny, and three teams have already given up on LaRoche. Long gone are the high octane offenses fueled by Damon, Manny and Ortiz. Can this team win this season? Yes, but without a key trade or two I think it is likely that the Yankees will run away and if Tampa shores up its pen, it could blow by us too. Some people have expressed that they would be happy to go into next season with this team. Not me. What if Ortiz declines further and Lowell can no longer play? We still don't have a reliable SS, and Tek will be step closer to the bone yard. The FO will need to fill those holes through FA or by trading prospects. This years team is one key acquisition from being the front runners down the stretch and next season. Pitching wins and a top three of Beckett, Lester and Halladay would make any team very good.
  12. It's a nauseating dilemna.
  13. When he is locked in he can hit anyone. If Tito wants to get Rocco in the lineup, he should sit the slumping Bay.
  14. Drew finally gets locked in last night, and tonight he is riding the bench. Idiot move.
  15. Certain moves would make no sense. Trading Lester for Halladay would make no sense. We are looking to add an ace, not swap aces. With regard to VMart, where would he play on an everyday basis. . . Catcher? Is he a capable catcher. What's with all the interest in Adrien Gonzalez? Who would sit for him to play? If the Red Sox can't land a stud pitcher, they should make a big push for Hanley Ramirez to shore up SS, or go for a big OF bat.
  16. The Phillies may not be a WS lock. There is no such thing as a lock, but they will now be the favorites. The smart money will be on the Phils. Hopefully, this paves the road to getting Halladay. If there is an opportunity to get Halladay, I hope Theo doesn't dick around trying to get a 3rd team involved or any ******** like that. If he tries to get too fancy, nothing will happen. I hope he doesn't wait until the final hour giving the Yankees a chance to steal him away. He should pressure Toronto to close the deal today. He can't give the Yankees the opportunity to eat our lunch, because they will.
  17. Weren't there 2 outs when Lowell got thrown out. That is a big difference.
  18. There were none out. They were going to get him in with an out. He cost them a potentially big inning. Too many innings from the bullpen again. 3+ innings three nights out of 5 will ultimately result in disaster. The 2004 pen came together when the starters starting going deep into games. They had an incredible run of 6+ inning starts. They can't wait for Dice K. He's part of the problem. His whining to the Japanese Press shows me that he has no confidence that he can perform and he is looking for a scapegoat. So, much for the theory that we had excess pitching-- 7 or 8 starters. That's not depth when 5 or 6 of them suck.
  19. Nomar has given us a lot of help tonight.
  20. Does anyone here still believe that Adam kennedy is not a Red Sox Killer?
  21. Maybe not. By 2011, the Sox may have another crop of major league ready prospects.
  22. It's about time that he gets in a groove.
  23. Did he play for the Giants. I don't remember him.
  24. I noticed that Roy Oswalt left tonight's game after an 1 2/3 innings. Does anyone know if he got injured?
