  1. Try the Philly feed. On DirectTV, I have been having trouble with the NESN HD feed so I am watching the Philly HD feed. Youk is still flexing his knee at first base.
  2. I agree that it's good to have a swing man and spot starter in the bullpen. I'm not so sure that Wakefield is up to that task anymore. Tomorrow against Halladay is just a huge mismatch.
  3. Just because we have no choice, doesn't mean that our only option is a good option.
  4. Fearless prediction for tomorrow: Minimum 4 HRs against Wake.
  5. What does Bay have to do with Lackey? :dunno:
  6. Crap is the appropriate response. Thank goodness we won tonight's game.
  7. 6 steals and 3 triples. His knees must be aching. His HRs will come. CitiField sucks for power hitters. He will not hit 36 like he did for the Red Sox, but he will hit 25 +
  8. Bay is 4 for 4 tonight against the Yankees. He sucks.
  9. Why would the Mets bring in this kid, Mejia in the 7th to protect a 4-1 lead. He starts off giving up a hit to the #9 hitter and walked Jeter on 4 pitches.
  10. This pitchers has the best name in baseball.
  11. He sucks. He's through. Toast! Wake up and face the truth. Ask Red Sox Rules, JimEd and Doji.
  12. If he stays, that is Part I of the decision. Part II of the decision involves VMart. He can't catch more than 100 games. His defense at catcher is a terrible liability and his offense suffers if he catches too much. There is no room for him at first base or DH.
  13. No one has addressed my question about how the Sox will deal with the logjam that would continue if Ortiz returns on 2011. Lowell will be gone, but there will still be a logjam with Youkilis, Beltre (if he can't get more $ elsewhere), VMart and Ortiz.
  14. Lackey got off to such a fast start in Spring Training, but he has been disappointing thus far. I don't know how anyone could feel otherwise.
  15. I did the "I told you so" routine last season, and again I can do it this year. Enough of that. I think that Ortiz will finish the year with over 30 HRs and 100+ RBI. His batting average and OBP and OPS are climbing. He will be anchoring the middle of the lineup the rest of the way. The word will get around the rest of the league soon, and they will start to pitch around him. Here's the question for the board. If he has a very good year, does he come back to the Sox next season, and if so, how do they address the logjam situation? Lowell will be gone, but there's a good shot we will still have Beltre. He'll probably exercise his option. I don't see a big market for him. If Ortiz comes back, VMart will be allowed to walk. That's my opinion... And I am almost always right. Just kidding.
  16. Thames is a disaster in the field-- just absolutely terrible. I was at the Sunday game at Fenway. He's makes the simplest play into an adventure, and any play with any difficulty becomes a disaster. Fearless prediction-- he will not be with the Yankees at the end of the season. I can't see them tolerating his atrocious fielding.
