  1. Three of the 4 guys that were supposed to fight it out for the setup roles bombed out. That's a terrible batting average by the FO-- just terrible
  2. I just got an email saying that someone has been trying to log into my TalkSox account I sent a PM to Yeszir.
  3. Maybe it was you.
  4. What picture? Did I miss something?
  5. The issues that he had were over 2 years ago. Bouts with acute anxiety are not as likley to recur as other forms of mental illness. With our crack medical staff, he'd be more likely to come to the Sox with an undiagnosed shoulder injury.
  6. They also sent me an email.
  7. Who is assigning blame? I posted a quote from today's paper that included some interesting statistics. I erroneously attributed the article to the Globe. The quote was from the Herald. One of the worst fielding positions on the Sox was pitcher. That has nothing to do with injuries, but rather a lack of fundamentals. I do believe in accountability, and since a big part of the teams lousy ERA was attributable to the bullpen, I do believe the FO is accountable for the terrible pitching.
  8. In the end, not only did the focus on run prevention not work, but the Sox were one of the worst defensive teams in the league. From today's Boston Globe:
  9. The Greinke and Dice K moves are just examples of possible moves. Crawford is a superstar. When we play the Rays, we don't beat them unless we keep him off the bases. He has been a one man wrecking crew. He would be a force on the Sox.
  10. The Phillies are making a push for Werth. http://leeinks.weei.com/sports/2010/11/13/phillies-making-a-big-push-to-keep-jayson-werth
  11. To start with get Crawford. Greinke is being shopped. If they get Greinke, that could lead to moving Dice K to a west coast team for a bullpen piece or two. There are plenty of avenues and possibilities to build a very strong team in 2011.
  12. There are moves that can be made to make the 2011 team not just competitive but elite. There are many avenues to take through trades and free agency, and I am confident that they will do what needs to be done. They realize that their fans will be watching the 2011 team, not the future. Teams that are building for the future at the expense of the present don't have as many fans watching or going to their games. The Red Sox owners and FO cares about keeping the ratings and attendance at high levels. It is their bread and butter.
  13. That is just not acceptable when they charge the highest ticket prices in baseball and have so many other lucrative income streams.
  14. You still don't understand me. I have always been cynical about pronouncements by the FO. I don't care about what they say. It's just PR. I care about what they do.
  15. Not worth a separate discussion thread.
  16. Who? Why? And who cares?
  17. Ain't gonna happen in 2011. If he is a starter for the 2011 team, the Sox will be watching the play offs, not playing in them..
  18. Are these projections for a season at AAA?
