  1. Time will tell. I’d rather have watched Mookie play 1 more year for the home town team. He is one of the most exciting players to wear the Red Sox uniform and these acquired guys are not worth 1 year of Mookie to me from a fan’s perspective. Plus, we now have a gaping hole in the rotation. It is shaping up to be a forfeit of a season if Bloom doesn’t make some other moves.
  2. The FO is deep into this screw up and they don't have an exit strategy. Boy Wonder Bloom got cute with a 3-team deal that has backfired. No matter how this ends up, it is a black eye. How does Mookie play for the Red Sox in 2020? That's not possible imo. The Red Sox are desperate now. This will have an ugly end and the season is being sacrificed before a single pitch has been thrown.
  3. Why would the Dodgers veto the deal? They get Betts and get to keep Maeda.
  4. I would be applauding our FO if they dumped an injured prospect for a rotation piece. The Twins don't look bad at all.
  5. This transaction has reflected very poorly on the Red Sox FO. It has been botched and now the Red Sox will be forced to get less than the weak package that was originally announced. They are now hanging out there as the desperate party — the motivated seller.
  6. I am just going by his personal statements.
  7. Friedman was the star of the Ray FO. Bloom was their Cherington.
  8. Mookie isn't going to sign with anyone before FA.
  9. The Twins dropping out means nothing to the Dodgers. They were getting nothing from the Twins. The Dodgers are still willing to give up Verdugo and Maeda, so i don't think they will blink. The Red Sox have to decide whether they are willing to get only Verdugo in return for Betts and half price Price.
  10. It took a very long time to put together this pathetic deal. With the Twins out and Red Sox management receiving blow back and diminishing ticket sales. maybe the deal dies.
  11. Yep, I said that a couple of days ago. We have a gaping hole in the rotation.
  12. Couldn't listen to it and it was unwatchable too because the camera is often not on the field of play but on the stands or something else. I like the option on MLBTV that allows for the sounds of the game -- no announcers, but i don't think it was available last season.
  13. A "so-so" rotation? Sale, ERod, Perez, Eovaldi, and who? We don't even have 5 starters.
  14. Morgan had been good when he first started, but stopped doing his homework and started to mail it in. Mendoza was never good.
  15. Mendoza was the worst part of that production. She couldn't adapt her remarks and analysis to game circumstances. Her analysis was scripted and often inappropriate for the game circumstances.
  16. Their rotation is looking pretty good to me.
  17. LOL! I remember that.
  18. I wouldn’t be surprised if Bloom is just looking for extra $ for Price.
  19. Dutchy has dozens or reincarnations. Youk could confirm that. A permanent solution was found for Dutchy. LOL!!!
  20. Bloom should call the Dodgers and tell them that he will take Maeda. I'd rather have a serviceable cheap starter than an overweight relief arm with a history of arm problems.
  21. It appears that Bloom thinks that the Red Sox got shortchanged.
