  1. I would have been shocked if he didn’t get fired.
  2. I am not sad. Bring in the next guy.
  3. I am surprised about the Dylan Covey move.
  4. Cozart was having injury problems in recent years, but he would be worth the gamble.
  5. Cora was the architect of the system in Houston. Apparently, Hinch was not in favor of it, but he did nothing to stop it. Cora conceived of and implemented the system. He’s going down at least as hard as Hinch. The Red Sox will fire him.
  6. Cozart as a possibility for 2B?
  7. I think the timing was related to the cheating scandal unfolding. It is highly unusual to fire a GM mid season. There was something else going on. JH knew he had hired a wheeler dealer and he had just won 3 divisions in a row, including a World Championship. I don’t think one off year (not a last place year — a staple of Ben Cher) would have prompted a precipitous firing. I’ll have to agree to disagree on this as your version doesn’t fit for me.
  8. This is the first plausible explanation taking into account the timing.
  9. He has no long standing relationship with Cora. Plus, that would have caused clubhouse disruption and more rumors.
  10. This would be the first explanation of his firing that would make sense. The whole rebuild narrative always sounded like Message Board BS. It could be that DD wanted out of town to avoid any taint from this. Henry may have been doing him a favor for their long Association. It was not at all an acrimonious parting and it was sudden, unexpected, and until now, unexplained.
  11. Astros fired Hinch after his suspension was announced. Cora should also go.
  12. What is the league waiting for in meting out punishment. They can’t suspend Cora as they break camp to come north.
  13. I know too many people that found dead loved ones who died of drugs. It’s no joking matter.
  14. Two problems with Buch as a depth option. First, when the time comes that you need to call on him as an injury replacement, it is likely that he will be unavailable due to injury. Second, he has not performed well for a long time even when he has been healthy.
  15. I’d like to forget him.
  16. There are some available relievers who could help— Strop and Jeffrey. For starting depth, Nova, Hellickson, and Walker among others are still available.
  17. I agree. It is a waste of time.
  18. Not a big enough move to print World Series tickets.
  19. Reassigned to our minors.
  20. Print the Playoff tickets.
  21. Is Hembree healthy?
