The Mets are starting to play like the Mets again. Last night, they allowed 7 runs in spacious CitiField to an anemic A's lineup that had Coco Crisp batting third. They had a nice walk up crowd to see Dillon Gee who was 7-0 going into the game, but he imploded and crashed back to earth.
In regard to Reyes, he will be owed something like $3 million at the trading deadline. Are there any limitations with regard to adding cash considerations to the deal? IMO, Met management would jump at dumping the. $3 million plus an additional $2-3 million. Alternatively, the Sox could agree to eat all of Beltran's salary if Reyes is part of the deal. Reddick and Navarro should be enough to close the deal. Neither one is in our future plans. Beltran has to be moved, because the Mets will not even get draft choices if he walks away in free agency.
