  1. The Yankees are administering a beat down to Texas ... again.
  2. He's outperforming Cliff Lee.
  3. Beautiful game by Beckett. It's the best that I have seen from him. Wow!! Cue Dirty Water in Boston. Go Bruins!!!
  4. He's on cruise control.
  5. Crawford should be stealing here with 2 out.
  6. There's a lesson for you kid. If you walk AGon, Youk or Ortiz will make you pay. Three run HR by Youk!!! 3-0. Bruins leading 1-0. I hope the fill the net on Luongo. What a jerk!!!
  7. Time for Drew to get hot.
  8. Let's teach this kid a lesson.
  9. 5 DPs in 13 innings? Ridiculous!!
  10. Who will be taking Fatolos Calzones spot in the rotation?
  11. You need to understand something about the Mets organization that I know very well from very reliable sources. They have been planting misinformation with the press for a long time. It has become so commonplace that their broader fanbase has caught on. They will plant stories of trade offers made by them that could never be verified and some where the other GM stated that the Mets never made an offer, etc. This happened with the Halladay sweepstakes one year. The Mets claimed to have offered Toronto 4 players. JP Ricciardi denied getting any such offer. The Mets are on the brink of bankruptcy. Dumping payroll is of paramount importance. However, it would be poor fan relations for the FO to disclose that they are looking to just dump fan favorites, so you get a statement like they would be willing to eat "some" salary. That's as honest as they are capable of being. The truth is (and it will be borne out when they move him) the will dump as much of his salary as they can. Prospects are not a concern. He will go to the team that takes the most salary, not the team that offers the best prospect. This gives the Red Sox a big advantage over most teams.
  12. A team without playoff hopes can be more patient than a team with post season hopes. The Sox are hot now, but they can't afford to carry a guy in the rotation if he is not ready. I don't expect that we will blow out the Yanks and Tampa on the way to first place. The last time the Sox carried a pitcher that wasn't ready was 2008 when Buccholz went 2-9 and that cost them the division championship.
  13. The Mets don't want talent in return for Beltran. They his salary picked up. For Reyes they want some prospects, because the salary remaining isn't huge.
  14. How long do you keep a guy on the 25 man roster in the bigs if he isn't ready? Unfortuantely, they are boxed in. It's either promote him or lose him. If teams out their are salivating over him, I'd call the Mets and ask for Reyes in return.
  15. I heard the same report, but i don't have a link. He was a pretty reliable starter. It would be foolish to lose him just to rush a "project" to the majors. I don't expect that Miller will be able to hit the ground running in the rotation.
  16. It's a question of whether one guy is ready and the other guy is done. I hope they make the right choice. I was just wondering whether Millwood also had an opt out clause and when that would activate.
  17. If we bring/rush Miller into the rotation, what happens to Millwood? His last 2 AAA starts have been very strong. http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?pos=P&sid=t533&t=p_pbp&pid=119154
  18. I am baffled that Tito decided to blow up the game by putting Hottovy in.
  19. We're playing in Tampa. We can't win by walkoff.
  20. Trade Miller to the Mets for Jose Reyes.
  21. He's not even near 7 runs.
