This is what a team choke looks like. They are very rare, but i watched the Mets do it in 2007 and 2008. This is what it looks like. Lots of s***** players are on the field who are completely futile, the reliable stars try doing do much to get the team to win and before you know it, they can't do anything right. Then the manager tries hunches that don't work and the whole thing snowballs. When a team starts spiraling like this, they need a top stud that can hurl a complete game shutout (like a Sandy Koufax), but they don't make those guys anymore.
I went out and watched football all day... no baseball. I knew this was going to happen. I could see this unfolding 3 weeks ago and everyone said I was nuts. As recent as yesterday my son disagreed with me. I would not be surprised if we don't win another game this season if we lose tonight. Oh, well anything can happen I guess. Nah not really, not when you are forced to wheel out Wakefield in a must win game. This is the best game the Sox have played in 2 weeks and it will probably be a devastating loss. Sad. Very sad.
