  1. If JD wins the game for the Sox tonight, we have to track down Dipre and temporarily lift his ban so he can tell us why we are such ungrateful fans.
  2. Football Sunday. Out with friends. Trying not to witness this.
  3. No, I don't believe in predestination, but I do believe in odds, and they are heavily stacked against us in this extra inning game in Yankee Stadium. Keep stressing if you must.
  4. I bring the grim reality.
  5. Stop stressing. This is inevitable. It doesn't matter what Tito does at this point.
  6. This is what a team choke looks like. They are very rare, but i watched the Mets do it in 2007 and 2008. This is what it looks like. Lots of s***** players are on the field who are completely futile, the reliable stars try doing do much to get the team to win and before you know it, they can't do anything right. Then the manager tries hunches that don't work and the whole thing snowballs. When a team starts spiraling like this, they need a top stud that can hurl a complete game shutout (like a Sandy Koufax), but they don't make those guys anymore. I went out and watched football all day... no baseball. I knew this was going to happen. I could see this unfolding 3 weeks ago and everyone said I was nuts. As recent as yesterday my son disagreed with me. I would not be surprised if we don't win another game this season if we lose tonight. Oh, well anything can happen I guess. Nah not really, not when you are forced to wheel out Wakefield in a must win game. This is the best game the Sox have played in 2 weeks and it will probably be a devastating loss. Sad. Very sad.
  7. I am glad we got AGon, but he needs to shut up right now and get some big hits.
  8. If I wasn't so upset, this would have had me chuckling. http://lansdowneandthestreets.bandcamp.com/
  9. I felt certain when he stayed away from the first inning woes that he would be money today, and then he got that look and the wheels came off. If we can't take a Lester start to the bank, we're cooked. He's gone down 3 times in a row. Very distressing.
  10. The Angels just won and picked up a game. If we drop the double dip tomorrow and both Tampa and the Angels win, we will go into the last series in a tie with Tampa and the Angels 1 game behind. The Yanks will dump the 3 games to Tampa, so the Sox will have to sweep the O's to force a 1 game playoff. The Sox are more hapless right now than any team that I have ever watched. We are depending on Wakefield and Lackey tomorrow. Wow!!! Who is pitching game 1?
  11. Who the heck knows. I'd hope that it is fatigue, but he is a big young guy and he's not even going to crack 200 innings this season. It doesn't seem like he should be worn out. I might be projecting, but he had the look of a choker on the mound today. He looked tentative. He lost his release point and command very badly. Who knows.
  12. He was here the other day when we were getting bitch slapped by the Orioles I think. I could be wrong about it being the Orioles, because several teams have bitch-slapped the sox recently.
  13. That's right. We should be targeting Tampa's GM not their idiot, dementia medicine spokesperson, Drew Carey look-a-like manager. Their GM apparently knows a lot about pitching, because they have much more of it than we do-- and it's cheap too.
  14. Opinion is pretty overwhelming on this issue. He's toast. He's been toast for at least 2 seasons. It's obvious to everyone except his mother.
  15. Plus we don't have arms for depth like Matt Moore and Torres. Let's not forget that they let Garza-- a pretty good pitcher- walk.
  16. Homer by Zobrist and the Rays take the lead 3-2.
  17. Maddon lifted Nieman after 1 inning. No 7 run rule for him.
  18. Toronto made 2 errors plus they let a two out popup drop in in the bottom of the first. Score tied 2-2. Two unearned runs.
  19. Romero vs. Nieman
