This is what a team choke looks like. They are very rare, but i watched the Mets do it in 2007 and 2008. This is what it looks like. Then the manager tries hunches that don't work and the whole thing snowballs. When a team starts spiraling like this, they need a top stud that can hurl a complete game shutout (like a Sandy Koufax), but they don't make those guys anymore. I went out and watched football all day... no baseball. I knew this was going to happen. I could see this unfolding 3 weeks ago and everyone said I was nuts. As recent as yesterday my son disagreed with me. I would not be surprised if we don't win another game this season if we lose tonight. Oh, well anything can happen I guess. Nah not really, not when you are forced to wheel out Wakefield in a must win game. This is the best game the Sox have played in 2 weeks and it will probably be a devastating loss. Sad. Very sad.

The Angels just won and picked up a game. If we drop the double dip tomorrow and both Tampa and the Angels win, we will go into the last series in a tie with Tampa and the Angels 1 game behind. Who the heck knows. I'd hope that it is fatigue, but he is a big young guy and he's not even going to crack 200 innings this season. It doesn't seem like he should be worn out.
