  1. I am not insulting you. I think it is an arrogant stance for anyone to pass judgment on someone else's character in this situation.
  2. Delaying these surgeries would have contributed nothing to the cause. It's just a lot of arrogance judging someone else as falling short on social awareness in these cases. Everyone should be a little more concerned about what they can do to help the cause in his/her own community rather than casting aspersions on someone's character for getting a surgery. The whole conversation is so much nonsense.
  3. And he didn't ban these surgeries either.
  4. And the judgment call regarding an individual's means to live comfortably enough to forego future earning ability should be a personal one made by that individual. It is pretty arrogant for others to make that judgment on his behalf.
  5. And why do you put him in the position of going against his employer on a matter covered by his contract -- to prove to you his social awareness? No needed resources were wasted on Sale's surgery.
  6. I am puling for his full recovery. Keep us posted.
  7. No, the Red Sox contractually direct this care. They are more than equally responsible.
  8. You seem to think that because Sale and Syndegard make a lot of money that they should forego care.
  9. 3.9 million masks had gone missing. These surgeries did not use needed resources. https://www.seiu-uhw.org/press/union-locates-massive-supply-of-n95-masks/
  10. That a lot of missing masks ... 39 million. I don't think they would fit in a supply closet that someone forgot about. I think you underestimate the ability of scammers and thieves in times like this.
  11. If 8 months of rest hasn't helped, maybe surgery should be considered.
  12. Okay, onto the next topic, should Vedugo get his back fixed surgically?
  13. There is a lot of that going on in today's society. It's very unfortunate.
  14. That is going to screw the incoming class in 2020.
  15. Discovered shortly after the AG said that they would be prosecuting cases of stolen medical supplies. Coincidence?
  16. This is a time when humor is needed.
  17. Thunder, Do you know it the NCAA baseball season has been completely cancelled?
  18. I remember that the Red Sox and Schilling were at odds over his treatment/rehab issue, and it became a contractual dispute. The Yankees are looking to renege on $20 million to Ellsbury because he saw an unapproved doctor.
  19. Nonsense about the few masks that they might have used. Here's some mask news: https://www.seiu-uhw.org/press/union-locates-massive-supply-of-n95-masks/
  20. Maybe Sale will wear a ribbon or donate some medical supplies. Would that satisfy you? People act like the delay in these surgeries would be only for a few weeks or a month. No one knows how long this crisis will continue. And the crisis will likely get worse before it gets better. They got the surgeries now in places where they weren't diverting any resources away from corona virus care. In a month or so, every part of the country may have burdened resources. Getting it now was prudent judgment. Also, the teams who are paying these players tens of millions each season realized that a 6 month delay in the surgery could cost an additional season of playing time. It was probably the teams call and Sale should not be expected to defy his employer.
  21. So, you can't explain it.
  22. Do you know what is in his contract? Most players listen to the team and the doctors. You are putting too much responsibility on the athlete to meet you view of social awareness. Very judgmental on your part. Sale putting off his surgery as some show of selflessness would have been as meaningless to the cause as wearing a ribbon to support the cause.
  23. How about the employer's who direct and pay for the healthcare of the athletes?
  24. From each according to his ability to each according to his needs?
