  1. When the Sox did little to address their obvious off season holes, many people believed that the team still had enough talent to be competitive for a playoff spot, but acknowledged that good health would be a necessity to make a playoff run. Well, we're barely out of the starting blocks, and we've lost our closer for most of the season leaving the bullpen in disarray and inadequately stocked with effective arms. We've also lost our All Star Centerfielder for 2 months and our big money left fielder is still out with an injury. We are experiencing the one thing that many people didn't think that the team could withstand. I am sure some of those people will reconsider their prior opinions in this regard, but I don't think prospects are very bright at this point. The FO hasn't made a move to bolster the pitching since Bailey went down. I don't think they will make a move to strengthen a very thin OF corps. What fun! We'll get to watch some combination of Ross, Sweeney, DMac and Lin for weeks until Crawford returns. It doesn't exactly conjure up memories of an OF roster of Lynn, Rice, Yaz, Evans and Carbo.
  2. He also had spinal neck surgery in 2011.
  3. Until Crawford comes back, we will have 4 solid hitters Pedroia, Agon, Ortiz and slumping Youkilis) in the lineup and an assortment of 5 mediocre to bad offensive players to go along with them.
  4. Wainright gave up 8 runs in 3 innings. He's 0-2 with an 11.82 ERA at 13+ months after TJ. I don't think we can expect much better from Dice K. I don't think a June 1st return to the rotation is realistic at all.
  5. It just no longer meets the needs of the fans. It's a museum relic, but we will have it for about 30 more years at least.
  6. Putting Lars in LF after 1 game played in the OF in AAA. would be a terrible idea.
  7. Looks like a spot just opened up at the top of the Sox lineup. Has he been taking live ABs yet?
  8. Unfortunately, Johnny Damon just signed with the Guardians.
  9. This has been enjoyable!! I would not send Beckett out for the 9th with this score. Let Fat Albers hang himself.
  10. Offensive star of the game-- Kelly Shoppach.
  11. That's how I read all of your posts-- and I add in a lithsp.
  12. Thus far, he is the offensive star of the game.
  13. A mild separation would keep him out for 2-3 weeks.
  14. You are such a trouble maker. You know that Maz or DS will read your post and hassle BV about this.
  15. He's pitching. In his younger days, he just threw.
  16. 6 innings on 74 pitches. I'm not complaining. I'm thrilled.
  17. Pretty stupid on Ells part. There was no chance of braking up the DP.
  18. Could be a separation or worse a broken humerus bone? Both are long term injuries.
  19. Keep the hits coming.
  20. Who Boris Badenoff?
  21. That has to be right in line with the Sox game plan.
