  1. No Hardy, no Wieters. It's their B lineup. He needs to put together a good game.
  2. This former flame thrower doesn't have a put away pitch to strike out Davis? Davis strikes out all the time.
  3. Hardy is not starting today for the O's. That's good news.
  4. And a Google Search no doubt reveals the truth. You don't listen to him, because you think it would make you stupid beyond comprehension, so you are in no position to have an opinion about him. It's not like baseball where there are stats to tell the story. Unless you listen to him, you opinion has no validity.
  5. Your are correct, which is why I avoided any mention of politics. It speaks to the success of Rush that the mere mention of his name is considered a political statement.
  6. The Orioles are no longer doormats. They are a fairly well-balanced team. Their weakness is a lack of starting pitching depth. They seem pretty solid everywhere else. I read today that Duquette is looking to shore up his starting pitching, and if they stay in the hunt through June, I think there is a good chance that he will acquire some starting help. All of the teams in the ALE have some holes and deficiencies. I don't see their problems as being any more severe than those of the other teams. As a young group like this stays in the hunt their confidence will increase. The next month will tell you what direction they will take. I don't think they are going away. They are no longer a soft opponent.
  7. and they would both be in the lineup with Ross and Sweeney down. Abreu is a better option than Podsednik, and at the end of the year, it will be obvious that he was the better option than Nayva.
  8. 16 games 50 PA
  9. If it is hairline and non-displaced, get the swelling down, tape him up and send him out. It'll heal.
  10. Has he been DL'd yet?
  11. Abreu is OPS ing at .889 for the Dodgers. But why bother pay a guy like that the minimum.
  12. With Youk back, it's time to go on a roll and beat teams into submission. We just need to hope that the opposition doesn't hit too many balls to the OF.
  13. Spear is a 0 tool player.
  14. That Yaz that played hurt and healed while playing was the MVP of the playoffs against the 3 time defending champion Oakland A's. He made some unbelievable defensive plays and he hit something like .450 including a key HR against Vida Blue. Without Yaz, they don't' even get to the WS. Sitting out longer wasn't going to make the long term healing any more complete. Anyone who has had a bad sprained ankle could tell you that it is never the same. So, yeah I am happy that Yaz toughed it out and played through his injury, because without him we would have missed watching the 1975 World Series, and he played pretty darn well in that WS too. As for 1978, Yaz's backup was likely to be Pot-Bellied Bob Bailey. Ten percent of Yaz was better than Bailey. I am glad Yaz taped up and went out and hit a second inning HR against the untouchable 25-3 Ron Guidry and he got another knock against Gossage. There was no one on the bench who could have done that for the team. You just don't know what you are talking about when you talk about Yaz.
  15. A pudgy old utility infielder with no arm and no pop is not thread-worthy.
