  1. And that is exactly why I don't want Lin playing CF with AGon in RF. I don't need some over enthusiastic kid running over one of my stars. BTW: Lin bats second in the 8th.
  2. We have three innings to get them. Price is at 96 pitches. We are seeing him pretty good right about now.
  3. Stupid play cost us. Also, if they are not in the shift, that is a routine groundball to second base. There's a reason why Abner Doubleday lined up the defenders in the traditional way.
  4. There is an open base.
  5. Minor league skills and a minor league head.
  6. A k or popup would be great, but I could live with a DP.
  7. It would be great if Beckett could hand the lead to Aceves in the 9th.
  8. He has a couple of hundred on offense and defense?
  9. Jeter has a couple of hundred of those over the years.
  10. WTF, Lin will be batting after Poppi?
  11. You and Bobby V on the same page. Are you bragging about that?
  12. He'd bunt into a DP. Let him hit into a traditional DP.
  13. Darnell has a very pleasant face. His play makes me sad.
  14. And hating him for being overexposed makes sense? He has no control over his coverage at all, so hating him for it is insane. As I said earlier, Google "tebow religious controversy" and you will have plenty to read-- not all of it positive.
  15. I agree that the controversy is media created and that football fans by and large don't care about it, but the controversy created by the media was centered around his religion.
  16. Yup, the key word in your post is "themselves". The yanks and Rays have had key injuries too, but they are not stuck in last place. Also, we were playing our worst before Ellsbury and Youk went down.
  17. I really think you can only speak for yourself on this. Google "Tebow religious controversy" and you will have plenty to read. I think you have your head in the sand on this one. I have never known a mediocre player who was so overexposed by the media. Also, I don't know why fans would hate him for being overexposed. He had no control over that. The reason for the overexposure and the hatred stem from the controversy IMO.
  18. Every one is in agreement that he is not an NFL caliber starting QB at this time. About that there is no controversy. The controversy involves the other stuff.
  19. When a player's religion becomes a topic of non sports talk shows and Sunday morning political shows, he is controversial. I don't know why you can't see that.
  20. Speaking for myself, I never projected either of them as the #3 hitter for the Red Sox. I always like Lowrie's bat. I used to call him Minny Manny, because he was very productive with his hits getting a lot of RBIs. Middle of the order? Yeah, I could see him batting 5th or 6th if he stayed healthy. Who the hell ever thought Pedroia would bat cleanup at times? The fact is this E1, both the A's and the Astros got their number three hitter for spare parts, essentially just a bullpen guy. That's a good deal for them even if they have weak lineups. BTW, weak lineup or not, the A's handed us our hat when we faced them this season.
