  1. We should be bashing the crap out of Porcello.
  2. It's one of the things that I don't like about these 2 wild cards. At the end of the season, it is going to be hard to figure out who we want to win the other games if we are still chasing multiple teams.
  3. Like I said it was a nothing trade. They could have moved Morales to the rotation any time they wanted. They have a lefty in the pen with Miller.
  4. I think we would be better off if the Yankees help us by beating the teams in front of us.
  5. It was a nothing trade. They exchanged one middle bull pen piece for another. It was as nothing a trading deadline as they could have had.
  6. If the FO had the belief in this team that they profess to have, they would have reinforced it at the trading deadline. They can make all the excuses bit there was a load of trading activity by a load of teams. They have no faith in the team, and now the players in the locker room know it. Everyone knew they needed starting pitching. None was obtained. Message sent. Message received, except by those in denial.
  7. They kept Punto making us miss out on Ciriaco for most of the season or did you forget that?
  8. This booing Beckett thing makes all Red Sox fans look like insensitive jackasses. Really, who the hell boos a guy who comes off the field injured? It's embarrassing.
  9. Politics is full of massive *******s on both sides of the aisle. But it's a deal. No politics, unless you start with it.
  10. Worse than that. He's a knuckleball pitcher. They aren't even real pitchers.
  11. But .. eh... I don't think he wants to play against us. I'd love to have him on my softball team, but I don't think that he would be interested. He wants to play in the Bigs, but he is finding it difficult, because he stinks.
  12. Who figured that he is thread-worthy.
  13. I think Beckett can make the transition more successfully than Lester, because Beckett has been the more consistent strike thrower throughout his career. As for the middle ground between us, I usually get there when I stop being a jackass. I am sure that we will still disagree about issues, but with respect for each others opinion.
  14. Okay. You convince lospunchados. I have spent too much time talking about this sack of balls.
  15. I think he is still in the process of adapting his game to no longer being a power pitcher. I think he can make that transition and can remain a useful starter. However, his lack of commitment to conditioning does concern me.
  16. Who hates him? I wish he could be the next Papelbon, but he will not be. He's not even the next Melancon. Effective "major league relief pitcher'? He's 27 and still in the minors. He hasn't spent a full single season in the majors, so I don't know if I want to concede the characterization of him as a major league pitcher, because he can't seem to find a full time job in the majors. As a reliever, he has a whopping 47 innings under his belt, mainly garbage innings. He's pitched 2 games in his career in Late and Close situations. The guy is a throw in for a trade and minor league roster filler. No one will know his name next season when he is out of options. He's not worthy of this stupid discussion.
  17. Oh yeah, no doubt about that, but stronger than if Punto was batting 5th.
  18. I really don't put much stock in WAR. You can find whatever numbers you want to torture any way you'd like. Your use of it here demonstrates why it is a completely unreliable measure. Mortensen is so good that if he is lucky he gets to stay with the big team for 2 -3 games. This time he lasted one game. If he was that good, you think he'd at least jump ahead of the horrible Melancon on the depth chart. Melancon also has minor league options. He's worse than Melancon so back to the minors with him. That's not me. That's was Ben Cher, who you are complimenting on the Scutaro trade. And how stupid must the first place San Francisco Giants be when they are having Scutaro bat 5th behind Buster Posey instead of Punto, a bench warmer on a team that has been in last place most of the season. because he can't even be relied upon to lay down a bunt without making 2 outs. Yes, so much for WAR.
