    It's a Beckett start. We need to score 10 to have a chance. Melancon is joke. He is keeping him on the roster in some lame ass attempt to try to justify the trae to get him. Sometimes you just have to cut your losses.

    The Red Sox were probably the last thing that was keeping him alive, and he couldn't take this s***. Maybe our whining f***s will start pointing fingers at each other over who killed Pesky.

    SFF, Ciriaco has had no hype. When Spring Training started, no one knew his name. He completely outplayed Iglesias in Spring Training and he continued to to so for 3 months in AAA. He earned the promotion. Iglesias is the guy who has been hyped. This isn't the first time this season that someone has posted about how he was finally starting to hit. We're waiting.

    Yep, and that is not Bobby V's fault. He had to know that his pitching sucked, but he stayed loyal to the party line saying time after time that he liked his pitching. The players are surely scapegoating Bobby V. This team is where it is, as you stated, because of the starting pitching. That's it, pure and simple. If the 2 whiners want to complain to someone, maybe one of them should walk to the mound and tell Lester to get his head out of his ass the next time he starts bitching at an ump or remind Doubront that he is a f***ing rookie when he stomps around the mound like a petulant child. If it had no effect at least it would be placing the responsibility in the right place. It's not Bobby V taking major shits on the mound game after game.

    The organization has let this team deteriorate into a Major League- type caricature resembling the bumbling fools in the movie.

    Oh, I guess they were concerned that it ruined Lester's stats. Gee that's too bad. They get paid to win games and they have done a really bad job at that, but they want Bobby V to protect their stats. Too freakin bad.

    That makes no sense. Aceves is capable of multiple inning outings. In fact, he is better in those situations. Bailey can't go multiple innings. Putting Bailey as a set up man cuts down Bobby V's flexibility.

    Some of the older members may remember that Yaz was a pretty good first baseman. There was a year or two where I thought he was worth of the GG.

    You are really unearthing some memories for me. While I don't remember that particular play, I do remember that some of his throws started off low and stayed on a line never dipping, because he threw so damn hard. No one had a stronger arm at SS back then-- no one. They used to put the knock o him because he took a long time to release the ball, but I don't remember runners beating the throw when he decided to fire that gun. It was amazing, because I think his playing weight was around 160-165.

    I saw him many seasons at Spring Training. He used to carry out the lineup card before games in full uniform and joke with the umps and whoever passed his way. He was just enjoying himself. He had such a positive attitude that it was just infectious. The last couple of years, at least, I didn't see him. I figured that he had gotten too frail. In his final year or two at Spring Training he would sit in a chair on the field and give autographs. He loved it. Remy, who has beat cancer, will carry on the mantle of the former Sox player who remains a fixture at Fenway. However, he will be doing it with a microphone and not a uniform. At the old ball park in Ft. Myers fans could walk up to the top of the grandstand behind home plate and be pretty much face to face with the announcers. In between innings, people would stand on their seats and role balls to Remy who never refused signing. He always stayed at his post knowing that people would be flockig there between innings. Pesky and Remy were the two constants for years for me at Spring Training. One is gone. God rest his soul.

    Yes, that same DLowe who never threw hard, but had that groundball inducing sinker and a pretty good slider. Yes, he's a shadow of himself, but our pitching is a horror show. If nothing else, he would have been a fresh arm for a period to spell the strained pen.

    After Rooster went to the Angels, he blew out his arm making one of his patented rocket throws to 1B. He tore his rotator cuff and never played SS after that. He was moved to 2nd base.

    It makes no sense that the re-signed a retread like Pods and sent Kalish back to AAA rather than taking a longer look at him, but they don't make a move for DLowe when their problem has clearly been pitching. If they are giving up, I understand not getting Dlowe, but why make the move for Pods?
