  1. That is sad to hear. RiP.
  2. 75-79 and they will need some breaks to get 79.
  3. each of them is damaged goods.
  4. i was just rounding out the Dick O’Connell era
  5. All players are commodities.
  6. There isn’t enough available talent to get this team to .500.
  7. Yes, and that is why I think they have a chance to avoid 90 losses.
  8. Rogelio Moret Bill Lee Sparky Lyle Reggie Smith
  9. I see them trying to avoid 90 losses.
  10. Yes, they will be improved, and their games should be more watchable, but I will be happy if they play meaningful games throughout the end of August.
  11. ERod will help, but that will not close the gap from helpless to competitive.
  12. When I used the term artillery, I was referring to the Offenses of the 2 teams— and the Jays offense is superior to the Red Sox.
  13. If we want to be realistic, Bloom is going north with the same roster as last year with additions of a broken down starter who hasn’t been healthy since 2015, a swing and miss low OBP power hitting OFer and a utility FA. Realistically, this will not get it done.
  14. Sure, but if we get into a shootout with the Jays lineup, they have more heavy artillery.
  15. The fans were hoping that he would convert his excellent stuff to a starting role, but he could never do it. He was much better than Pivetta, so I am not pencilling Nick P into the rotation.
  16. There was hope for Andy Hassler too.
  17. One week away before pitchers and catchers report and Bloom has a jalopy of a roster. We might finish ahead of Baltimore that is like a stripped car up on blocks. And we might compete with the Rays who moronically decided to build on their World Series appearance by decimating their starting staff. The Sox don’t have the horses to run with the Yankees or the Blue Jays. Both should pummel the pukes we send to the mound. I expect that we will see more position players taking the mound in ‘21 than in the shortened ‘20 season. Three different position players toed the rubber in ‘20.
  18. Pivetta stinks. I can remember days when Red Sox fans thought Andy Hassler would step into the rotation and perform.
  19. That was the truck that was transporting our roster— weighed down by dead weight.
  20. I wouldn’t mind signing Edwin Encarnacion to play some 1B.
  21. It’s astounding how league executives are so clueless about their business. They are almost entirely disconnected from their fan base.
  22. The Mets are out on Bradley.
  23. We had him for his most of his prime and there was very little prime left when he left. He was different case from the others, because he didn’t start with the Red Sox.
  24. Yeah, I would put Lynn in the same category and Fisk too. That team was full of extraordinary talent. And they let 2 of them go and it didn’t end well. Lynn’s stats with the Red Sox were very close to Betts. I wouldn’t put Pedro in the same category. He was a once in a generation talent, but unlike the others, he was pst his prime when he left.
  25. There will be no struggle with.500. They will not smell it after April.
