  1. Farrell has shown nothing for anyone to believe that he will be agood manager. In 2 seasons with the Bkue Jays, his team was very poorly schooled in the fundamentals and he had they running recklessly, very recklessly. Secondly, let me get this straight. We got 2 minor league piece of trash from the Cubs for Epstein, but we traded our starting SS for Farrell? I am not an Aviles fan, but the fact is that he was our 2012 starting SS and I thought he could be a utility type in 2013 and Plan C for SS if plans A and B blow up. Our guys are a bunch of boobs. I'd like to be the car dealer when one of these bo-bos buys a car.
  2. I am glad that Girardi had some initial success with pinch hitting for ARod, because it made him think that benching ARod would be a good idea. Benching one of the greatest players in history in favor of an older player is not a good idea. Maybe ARod breaks out in one of those games and carries the team for a couple of games. We'll never know, but we do know that Girardi is a stooge. See ya next season Yanks.
  3. We gave him away like we are the KC Royals.
  4. I don't want Farrell even if he gets fired by the Jays.
  5. I don't think they should pursue this.
  6. Just throwing it out to chew on. When VMart comes back next season, there is no position for him with Tigers unless he rotates between DH and 1B with Fielder. The Tigers may just look to dump his salary. He could fit nicely at 1B for us.
  7. Tulo maybe exactly the type of player around which to rebuild this team.
  8. and use the stadium as a homeless shelter.
  9. The bad call made no difference. You can't win if you don't score a run.
  10. Miggy is a complete beast. He will beat you every time if you pitch to him.
  11. Kuroda is defintely much more valuable than the National Treasure.
  12. Terrible call by the ump. LOL!! Great outing by Kuroda. After watching a lot of him this season, I have to ask if that piece of garbage Dice K is Japans National Treasure, is Kuroda the Emperor?
  13. I'd be happy to waste that extra time on baseball if we have a good team, but with Dice k too often the result was unrewarding. If we are going to stink, I would prefer shorter games.
  14. The league needs to shorten games. Good pitching an low scoring games is a start.
  15. He's the best SS in the history of the team. Is that in dispute?
  16. The article is ridiculous. Of course Jeter is a first ballot Hall of Famer and an all time great. He may not be the greatest talent to ever play SS, but he performed at an excellent level much longer than anyone else. Every other argument against him is jealous whining, and this comes from a guy that has been looking forward to being rid of him. First Ballot Hall of Famer? Without any doubt. And as a Red Sox fan, I hope it happens sooner than later. Hopefully, he is done and will go into the hall in 2018.
  17. Cherries needs to put this manager search behind him much earlier than last year's search. Bobby V wasn't hire until November 29th. Too much time was spent diddling over that decision and the FO let the rest of the off season pass them by. They have had plenty of time to map out their plan and plan B C and D. The season has been over since the end of July. They should be prepared and read to go once the World Series. They should be able to get the jump on everyone else. last year's waiting game was a disaster. They were waiting for the market to shake out to the point where certain good value acquisitions presented themselves. They let all the pitching pass them by -- both in FA's and trades. Good pitching costs money or prospects. If you wait for the market to shake out, you will be left with Aaron Cook, Ohlendorf, Padilla and assorted other garbage.
  18. You will need to watch old DVD's of Jeter playing SS, because it is ova for him. Pettitte will pitch one more game --and I predict that it will be s spectacular loss- then he will go into permanent retirement. That will be the last we will see of the Core Four. Good bye and good riddance.
  19. Unlike joe Torre who worshipped Jeter and could never bench him or move him off SS, Girardi has shown that he has no sentimentality. A broken ankle at 39 years old is the end of Jeter as an everyday SS. Look at how long it has taken for Stephen Drew to return from his broken ankle-- an entire year. He's 10 years younger than Jeter. I have seen careers ruined by broken ankles. This is a devastating injury to guys who rely on speed and mobility. I have seen that type of player have there careers ended by an ankle or have the trajectory of their career paths radically changed liked Tommy Davis and Bill Buckner.
  20. It will be very hard for a 39 yr olds coming off a shattered ankle to play SS at the major league level. It took Stephen Drew an entire year to make it back and he is 10 years younger than Jeter. I am betting that Jeter is done as the Yankee SS.
  21. Even the good managers are just not very smart.
  22. Wow, a fractured ankle. I don't think I have seen a guy break an ankle fielding a ground ball.
  23. I think Jeter's SS career just ended. The heart was cut out of the Yankees tonight-- October 14, 2012.
  24. I think Jeter just blew out his knee
  25. Leyland is an *******. He and Valverde gave this game away. You can't give away a game in a short series.
