  1. You obviously didn't read what I posted or you are incapable of understanding.
  2. If Batting average and RBI are such worthless stats, I think someone would have accomplished the feat in the last 45 years. You'd also think that some one would have done it who wasn't a Hall of Fame player. Miggy is the best offensive player in baseball right now. The so-called worthless stats do not prove his greatness. They are a result of his greatness.
  3. Their rotation lines up wirh Johnson, Morrow, Buehrle, Romero and Drabeck. Don't they also have McGowan and some others. Maybe they will be swapping some of those guys?
  4. Your filter has been coloring everything wrong for 7 years. i changed my avatar to the friendliest dog that ever lived. Cats smiled when they saw her. I had hoped that it would put you in a better frame of mind when you read my posts. I thought that Clint Eastwood might be too confrontational for you to handle, but yet you still read things that aren't there in ways I never intended and you argue with me even after I tell you what I meant. Hopeless. Seven years and you still can't figure me out.
  5. What is with you? I'll say it for about the 5th time today. I said it yesterday too. A new SS didn't even make the top 4 on my wish list for the Red Sox this off season. What makes you think I wanted them to after Reyes? Nothing has changed since yesterday, but you are still looking to argue about things I never said and don't believe. Talk about pathetic.
  6. What poster is upset about the Red Sox not getting Melky. Again, your warped filter is at work again.
  7. What fans? The Marlins have none.
  8. I'll stop your quote right here, because the rest of your post is irrelevant since your assumption in this question is inaccurate. I said that BSN had little basis to make the statement he made-- that it would be be extremely hard to move Reyes contract. I stand by that statement, and taking issue with the statement that something would be "extremely hard" doesn't equate with me believing that it would be easy. You are all mixed up. Look at what he said and what I said, not what you think I meant through your warped filter of who you think I am.
  9. I might offer arb to only Ellsbury and Salty who I would trade.
  10. Miggy is just a beast with the bat. No one compares to him at this point.
  11. Stanton could knock down the Green Monster.
  12. I don't think it would be possible for him to be less productive for this 2 year contract than Mike Cameron was on his 2 year deal with the Red Sox.
  13. I remain hopeful that the Sox will make moves, although the Blue Jays are really making things more difficult in the AL East.
  14. And this is still the lead story on the Red Sox: I expect there will be deals in place two weeks from tomorrow.
  15. And they put more distance between us.
  16. Why would I expect Ben to pull off the trade? He's on the Blue Jays. The Blue Jay GM would have to move him. As I said before, a SS did not make the top 4 on my wish list for the Red Sox. Try to keep up with the conversation. BTW you may not be naive, but you are either misinformed or you are being deceptive. It should be very easy to move Reyes at age 35 after 2018, because his contract will be over at 2017 with a $4 million buyout in 2018.
  17. You are right about me being right, but you have little basis for the highlighted statement.
  18. If Carl Crawford could be traded within a week after TJ surgery, anyone can be traded. I didn't say that Reyes would be easy to trade. That's your filter at work again. I said that he would be easier to trade than Crawford because he plays SS. I stand by that.
  19. At this point in time, the Jays are significantly better than the Red Sox. I don't care how the Jays look 4 years from now. Is that a win now mentality? It's just an assessment of what is. Our team sucks right now, and I have no great confidence that we will be contending for a championship in 4 years based on our FO leadership and our farm system. Who the hell knows? If I don't know what the Sox will look like in 4 years, how can I presume to know what the Jays will be like in 4 years?
  20. I never said that. Those are your words. A shortstop wasn't in the top 4 things that I want the FO to accomplish this season. I posted my plan several times. Read that and criticize that.
  21. The more salary you take on the lesser prospects you give up. Except for one badly injury marred year, he has averaged 150 games/yr since he has been a starting SS. He hasn't been on the operating table yet. He is not Edgar Renteria. You need to see this guy play on a daily basis.
  22. The contract is not close to as bad as Crawford's and because Reyes plays a premium position there will always be a much better trade market for him than Crawford.
  23. Wait until you see Reyes play 20 times a year. I'd take him on my team any time.
  24. Where are the posters who argued with my opinion that this vote would not be close. I am sure that Miggy lost a few votes on the character issue for his DUI. Of course, it would not be close. When will people learn?
