  1. With the middle of the order up, I'd rather run with 2 outs to put him in scoring position with a single. Pedroia and Ells probably have green lights anyway, and Farrell didn't send him and Butterball didn't wave him over, so no, I don't have a big problem with that play. I was just noting that it was another guy thrown out on the bases and a lost run. Base running has not been a bright spot for this team.
  2. Another guy thrown out on the bases costs us a run and maybe more.
  3. Yanks are beating the Twinkies this afternoon as usual 5-0 in the third inning
  4. A Pyrrhic victory or just splitting hairs?
  5. He's seizing his opportunity and trying to make it hard for the Sox to call up Middlebrooks.
  6. And Gardy won nothing with those guys either.
  7. The numbers are overwhelmingly bad. Many many of those games were lost in the late innings when Gardenhire decided time and again to over-manage games. Small market or not. The Twins have seen their share of World Championships, and Gardy has had talented competitive teams throughout his tenure, but he's won only one post season series in 11 years and lost 7 series. In the 7 series that the Twins have lost under his leadership, they have won a total of 3 games. That's horrible. He had a nice long tenure and plenty of chances. It's time for the Twins organization to give someone else a chance.
  8. He's on pace for his lowest HR total (17) since 2007 when he played only 75 games. I have to think that this will turn around.
  9. Nice start to the game. The kid has a couple of runs to work with. He needs to show that he can get through an order 3 times.
  10. His record against the Yankees is a disgrace, especially since he has had competitive teams throughout the period that play consistently above .500.
  11. It is reminiscent of the mysterious broken back from a couple of seasons ago. It always concerned me that they never identified the cause of that injury.
  12. Some advice is in order. Increase the girlfriends and cut back on the cigs. The girls will make you go crazy, but you'll be healthier and have the stamina to run away.
  13. When a great professional like Omar Vizquel questions what the hell is going on with the running game, you no something is rotten. I watched a lot of Blue Jays games over the last couple of seasons, and as bad as our base running has been, it has not been close to stupidity that had gone on in Toronto in 2011 and 2012.
  14. When I was pitching softball, there were a couple of seasons where I had neck problems. I'd get a stiff neck and couldn't turn my head. A few times I got the area massaged before the game so I could play. Each time it would last a couple of days and go away. I am not equating anything here to Buchholz. It just seems that some anti inflammatory meds and a massage would have taken care of a stiff neck with a whole medical team and training staff at their disposal. I fear that there is something more going on-- hence the need for the MRI.
  15. He'll get the job next year in CF and he'll get to sink or swim. If we have a chance to make a deep run this year, I'd like to get a proven MLB stick that maybe can play LF next season too.
  16. Big thick guys like CC can break down dramatically fast. The guy has been some horse for years now. I think it is a bit premature to predict his demise. I still don't like seeing him on the bump.
  17. I agree. Also, I don't think there is a chance that we get Lee. I see him going to Texas again. I would look at adding a big bat. Nava is starting to come back to earth. Gomes could platoon with Victorino who needs to spell his aches and pains.
  18. Thanks for the numbers Bells!! I have been bashing Gardenhire for years. People would actually defend him. I guess they don't watch too many Yankee-Twins games. He will always find a way to lose in the late innings. It has gotten to the point where I do not watch those games anymore. I have said many times that watching the Yankees-Twins is like watching a bad movie over and over expecting the ending to change. It doesn't. There is no arguing with those numbers. They are disgraceful.
  19. That's good to hear. Who knew that a nap with your child could land you on the DL. What's next, eating dinner results in TJ surgery? Jeesh.
  20. It is getting concerning and the reports about his condition and the amount of time that he has missed just don't add up.
  21. I like that they are extending their lead over the other teams in the division. Very encouraging.
