  1. This is huge news. If he heals as slowly as Buch, he's done for the season.
  2. Norris to the O's
  3. Buch's condition had to be the major driver for the Peavy move.
  4. Another trade goes down.
  5. But sometimes way out on a limb is dead on point. LOL!!
  6. I should have sent you a friend request a long time ago. Seriously, I always like seeing your point of view and agree with you about half the time.
  7. The rumormill just keeps flip-flopping on Young to the Red Sox
  8. Big hug to you and Taylor and John Lackey.
  9. I kept trying, but the guy is in a constant state of agitation like a rabid dog. I'm done with him, not even a peek at his posts. There's plenty of baseball knowledge here to enjoy without engaging him. He should go find his recent ally, SR and join up with him someplace else.
  10. Such a dick. Go take your meds. I try to tolerate you but you make everything a fight. To ignore with you. For good.
  11. No need to get pissy all the time. I was just clarifying my position. I didn't want my posts getting misconstrued into people thinking that I am anti -Peavy. It was a clarification for the whole forum, not just for you. Everything is not always about you, man.
  12. I am not complaining about Peavy. I am arguing about these statistical gymanstics being used to predict his performance when he has had a decent body of work in the AL that would give the best indication when taken as a whole. Peavy's problems are not his stuff or his performance. It is his health.
  13. or maybe he is closer to the 4.00 ERA that he has ppitched to in 537 innings in the AL.
  14. Would you change your signature?
  15. It looks like Young will be our third baseman
  16. THis is a useful stat.
  17. Don't we disagree about enough?
  18. The outliers are included when determining the averages. It's a much more effective way of establishing a level of performance than to pull out the bad starts and the good starts. I just don't see the value in that analysis. If someone wants to present evidence that the Chicago team has terrible defensive range thus allowing more hits, that would be encouraging to me. Just taking out a bad start and calling it an outlier is bogus to me. You can disagree.
  19. I would really like to pick up Howie Kendrick to play 3rd. He would be the incumbent next year unless WMB can win the job-- then Kendrick could move to 1st.
  20. I don't qagree that there are outliers, unless the guy was pitching with an eyepatch or against a team using aluminum bats. You measure a pitcher by his full body of work. There is no cherry picking. Like I said, if he was in a hot streak now, that would be valid, because maybe he made an adjustment to improve his performance. Normal seasonal ups and downs just factor into overall performance.
  21. If he wanted to say that he is pitching better lately, that is a legitimate argument, but the stats he put up didn't support that argument. He didn't show a progression of increasing good outings. He just pulled out the bad start. That's just not a valid measure of anything.
  22. I read it. I don't agree with it. Her's a question that I ask people when they tell me that a pitcher had a good outing except for one bad inning. Do you know what you call a pitcher who has one bad inning (4 or more runs) every start? A bad pitcher.
  23. Take awayv his bad start and he is a very good pitcher? I don't think it works that way.
  24. It depends on how things turn out.
