  1. Sounds like the Sox have the best deal on the table, David Murphy and Kason Gabbard for Gagne, but its still up in the air whether or not Gagne will waive his no-trade to come to Boston.
  2. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/070730 good article from Bill Simmons describing the trade
  3. i really dont want Gomes to be involved in this, and i dont think he will.
  4. Kevin Garnett for Al Jefferson, Gerald Green, Sebastian Telfair and Theo Ratliff is what rotoworld is reporting
  5. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=2950229 http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/columns/story?columnist=katz_andy&id=2950594 very sad to see one of the greatest college basketball coaches go that young, seemed like a really good guy.
  6. i think we need some lineup changes. Youk has not been doing well in he 5th spot this year, id move him back up to 1st/2nd. Look at this stat, in 109 AB's batting 5th this year, he's hitting .231 with a .325 OBP, no HR, 12 RBI, 15 BB, 21 K's. However, in 170 AB's batting 2nd this year, he is hitting .351 with a .450 OBP, 7 HR, 25 RBI, 26 BB, 19 K's. So i think he needs to be at the top of the order, cause thats were he suceeds. An other change id really like to see is hit Manny 3rd and Ortiz 4th. They both havnt been as good as they should be this year. Maybe switching them can jumpstart the offense. Him and Pedroia bat 1/2, i think Lowell should be hitting 5th, his 8-13 with 2 HR hitting 5th this year, not a lot of AB's but still, hes are best option at that spot for now. Drew when he's healthy hits 6th. Crisp has hit well in the 7th spot this year, hitting .304 in 70 AB's. Push Varitek down to the 8th spot and put Lugo 9th (hitting .304 in 69 AB's in the 9th spot) and hope he can continue to hit well there. Youk Pedroia Manny Ortiz Lowell Drew Crisp Varitek Lugo as far as pitching goes, we need to go out and get someone, right now we have Beckett Matsuzaka Wakefield Gabbard Tavarez if schilling can come back healthy, Tavarez gets bumped from the rotation, as long as Gabbard can keep pitching well. But thats questionable, so i think we should go after a guy like Garland or MAYBE Oswalt. Really doubtful Lester or Bucholz can help us out this year. As far as the bullpen goes, Delcarmen, Papelbon, Okajima, Lopez, Snyder, Timlin, Donelly if healthy. But id also be interested in getting maybe Dan Wheeler, Chad Qualls or Scott Linebrink. Some deal involving WMP could probably get one of those guys. Which leads me to my last part, the bench. I think WMP will be traded for some pitching, which means we need to replace him. Reggie Sanders is a name that has come up and it sounds like he really likes Boston and would like to come here. His old, but wont cost much and can still hit. He'd be more effective than WMP. Maybe a Mike Rozier type prospect. 2 other possibilities are Randy Winn or Dave Roberts. The rest of the bench would be the same as it is now, Mirrabelli, Cora and Hinske. so as of right now, thats what i would do to fix this little leak we have in our ship, but in time, it will definitely be fixed.
  7. there was a thing in the herald today saying that Samuel may be bluffing and is expected to end his holdout by training camp
  8. rios or pujols
  9. take out the 4th quarter and this team played really, really well tonight. defensively and offensiviely. Kinda wanted to see Gerald play a little more but Wallace was playing so well he didnt need to. Rondo needs to finish more and take layups/shoots when he has the oppurtunity. Ray struggled shooting but still hustled and looked pretty good to me. Leon Powe had a phenominal game, i think he may end up getting a lot of playing time this year. Big Baby didnt really shoot the ball well tonight either, but he hustled and i think it may take him a while, but he could be a nice player. Pruitt didnt do much really, but he shot the ball pretty good and showed his athletic ability. Brandan Wallace will make this team and if not be on the roster, atleast play in the d-league.
  10. another guy who really looks good, but might not make it with the Celtics is Brandon Wallace. Kid can jump and looks like he's a good athlete
  11. the celtics are playing wicked good right now in their first summer league game. Green is showing that he is one of the most athletic kids in this league and hes shooting pretty well Davis is playing real well, hustling, getting boards and scoring Powe is fighting for boards as well and has had 2 3-point play oppurtunities. Pruitt really looks like he can shoot lights out. good athlete and very good shot. Rondo has played well defensively and passing the ball, but it seems like hes afraid to shoot. i think the only shot hes made was a full court three at the end of the first overall though they look really good, and defensively they have been VERY GOOD
  12. Ratliff, Gomes, Telfair, Ray and a future pick for Camby and Blake (would have to be some type of sign and trade deal) Rondo/Blake/Pruit Allen/Allen Pierce/Green Al/Powe/Davis Camby/Perk I think he'd be a perfect fit to compliment the guys we have now. The best defensive big man in the league and he can still average about 10 pts a game. He is 33, but still has averaged 12 boards and 3+ blocks a game. That would give us a good defender down low, along with Rondo who is a great defender, and Tony Allen of the the bench who can defend the wings. Blake is also a great pass first PG, who played with 2 all-stars in AI and Carmelo last year. So playing with Pierce and Allen wouldnt be much of a difference.
  13. what about trading Ratliff, Gomes, Telfair and maybe some picks for Camby? nuggets would have to throw someone in to make the contracts work he led the NBA in BPG, and was 4th in RPG. also scored aroudn 10 a game, but is more of a defender
  14. they need to keep jefferson, because hes right now the only person they have to build around. maybe rondo or green. But i think Danny's going to get greedy and do whatever he can to get a guy like Garnett here. we'll see.
  15. i said padres from the beginning
  16. well now we may be the only team in history to have 2 guys with the same name, just backwards. Allan Ray, Ray Allen
  17. hahaha ya i know, but i think they would be the favorites in the East. Although im not sure who would be able to guard Lebron
  18. Gerald, Ratliff, Telfair, Gomes, next years first rounder for O'Neal there are still possibilites Rondo/Pruit/Ray Allen/Allen Pierce/Scal Al/Davis/Powe O'Neal/Perk   and if Indy really wants to move O'Neal, the deal doesn't hurt them to bad. they already are a s***** team and the move would help them rebuild Tinsley/Telfair Dunleavy/Green/Daniels Granger/Williams Gomes/Diogu Murphy/Foster/Harrison
  19. it easilly would, Boston.com seems to agree with me...
  20. Ainge may be trying to impress Garnett, by getting another veteran star. Garnett for Al, Gerald, Ratliff, Scalabrine and maybe a draft pick next year works out contract wise... Rondo/Pruit/Ray Allen/Allen Pierce/???(FA) Gomes/Davis/Powe Garnett/Perk
  21. could Ratliff, Gomes, Telfair and next years first get us Kirilenko? Rondo/Pruit/Ray Allen/Allen Pierce/Green Kirilenko/Davis/Powe Jefferson/Perk not bad
  22. well there goes Gray and Gasol
