    since he really doesnt have a spot on the team, unless someone goes down, id look into dealing him before the deadline while his stock is high.

    Ya id say Piniero should be the one to go, but i dont know what you could get for him. Phillies would be a team i'd think that would be interested. Maybe we can swap him for Werth, Dobbs or Helms.

    wow, great story ive always found it amazing that when someone says there gonna do something tough like hit a hr, etc., in honor of someone or something, they always seem to come through. I know this has happened before with someone promising to hit a HR, cant remember the situation though

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2893597 pretty much says that he is sitting out mini-camp, training camp and is planning to sit out the first 10 weeks of the season this doesn't look to good, reminds me exactly of the Deion Branch situation last year. looks like the Pats might end up with 3 first round picks in the '08 draft.

    last 4 games for Lester-- 20.2 IP, 10 K's, 5 BB's, 12 H, 2 ER, .87 ERA

    -rotoworld even though he is pitching great in Pawtucket with the .87 ERA, he only has 10 K's in 21 IP. Rotoworld thinks that's because the Sox have Lester avoiding throwing his cutter. Unless Tavarez really implodes as the 5th starter and we can't make a move for anyone else, keep Lester down there for the year, unless theres an injury or Tavarez starts sucking.

    give Lugo some time to work things out, and if by the trade deadline he's still hitting .220, then you consider changing it up. But we invested to much money on this guy to give up on him right now. hes proven before he is a quality SS and hitter. He's got a bunch of RBI's and SB's so thats a good thing. Maybe they should try moving him down in the order to like 7th so he can get more RBI oppurtunities. Youk Pedroia Ortiz Manny Lowell Drew Lugo Varitek Crisp im sure with that lineup, he'd get a lot of chances with RISP, where he's hitting .287 with 29 RBI.

    Im not going to lie, after April, I was like everyone else saying that we should have resigned Loretta, picked up another 2nd baseman or that Cora should be giving the starting job. Thank god Tito kept playing him casue from May till the present, Pedroia has proved everyone that doubted him wrong and has played amazingly. Right now, i think he is a very strong canidate for ROY, and probably deserves a spot on the all-star team. So consider this thread like an appreciaton thread for Dustin. look at these numbers since May (79 AB's): .443 AVG, .489 OBP, .646 SLG%, only 3 K's hopefully he can keep this up and be a huge help to the top of the lineup.

    Youk--MVP Pedroia--ROY but even though that last AB sucked, Lowell has been playing ridiculously well this year. He had a tough AB against the one of the best closers in baseball. It happens.

    i just thought tis funny that he goes on the DL with a wrist injury. Cause it was a bad collision and i would assume he would be done with a concussion or sometihng like that. never saw the wrist injury coming. yankees just cant get any luck with injuries this year. i to hope he comes back and is fine.

    who else fills our other bench spot?? Alex Ochoa?? My guess is Shea gets let go and as of now, i dont say many better options to use on the bench. He hits lefties well and thats almost all he'd be used for. You have to read my whole post to understand why i said him. Cause if Willy Mo stays with the team as a bench player, there is no way in hell id want to pick up Hillenbrand. But, IMO, hes better to have than Alex Ochoa or whoever else we'd call up (Jeff Bailey, Ed Rogers, Joe McEwing??, could keep going but will stop there).

    theres always a first time for doing something wouldnt surprise me if he was throwing at him last night, but i agree that Schill needs to focus on the game and let Beckett get the retaliation tomorow night. Beckett pitches better when he's fired up anyway and if he hits Arod in the 1st or 2nd inning tomorow and benches clear, he'll be more than fired up. or maybe something happens later in the game if it a blow out or someone in the bullpen (Donnelly?) throws at someone.
