1. anyone know if wally's going to play tonight?
2. Clarett and Marcus Vick f***ed them selfs over before getting a chance in the NFL. But Taylor, who is one of the best safeties in the game and is only 23, could instead of being a pro-bowler, end up in jail for the rest of his life. Why are these athletes so dumb.
3. looks like coco will be on the redsox after all. This morning it was on life support, now its almost done. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2308605
4. http://www.cleveland.com/newslogs/plaindealer/index.ssf?/mtlogs/cleve_plaindealer/archives/2006_01.html#108231
5. rhodes is going to Philly for Michaels
6. the sox along with Craig Breslow also signed Matt Ginter, Jimmy Serrano, Jason Dellaero, Madison Edwards, Tim Duff, Chris Goodman, Jon Searles, Luis Jimenez, and Ron Calloway to minor league deals. the only guys that have a chance at making the 40 man roster are Breslow and maybe Calloway the sox also signed a bunch of international free agents Jose Sierra, Jose Alvarez, Jackvil Avila, Yeiper Castillo, Ronald Bermudez, Victor Larez, Jesus Perez, Leandro Marin, Jose Arai, Melvin Gonzalez, Claudio Batista, Leonardo Arias, Marcial De La Nieve, Reuben Gonzalez, Yamaico Navarro, DJ Yeah, Chih-Hsien Chiang, and Alfredo Bompart as international free agents. i guess that Chiang kid is supposed to be good. Hes only 17 and was the only one i could find info on.
7. according to the herald, Mohr is a dead pull hitter and hits almost everything to left field. Always an advantage to have someone like that in fenway.
8. in the end, it looks like the Guardians just didn't want to trade crisp
9. Gp W L OTL Pts New Jersey 51 26 19 6 58 Tampa Bay 50 26 20 4 56 Atlanta 51 23 22 6 52 Toronto 49 24 22 3 51 Montreal 48 22 20 6 50 Boston 50 21 21 8 50 Florida 51 19 24 8 46 2 points out of the 8th spot
10. he is a MUCH better hitter against lefties. Id be fine with him as a 4th OF to play RF against lefties. He also has a pretty good arm. career .252 avg and .327 obp isnt bad for a 4th OF. He also has 15 hr potential and hit 17 last year in 265 AB's. (granted he did play for the rockies, but he still has some pop)
11. olawakandi = blount wally = ricky dwayne jones hasnt played in an NBA game in his career 1st round pick = reed and 2 2nd round picks i still think this should help the celtics since they have no one who is capable of being a outside shooting threat. It should help open things up for Pierce. it also will give orien green and ryan gomes some more playing time. NEW CELTS STARTING 5 should be--- C- Perkins PF- Al Jeff SF- Wally SG- Pierce PG- Delonte 2nd line-- C-Olawakandi PF-Raef SF-Ryan Gomes SG-Tony Allen PG-Orien Greene
12. i think he meant we wouldnt have to give up as many quality players to get crisp. We'd need to deal marte for any crisp deal. For Michaels we'd have to give up a decent pitcher.
13. Youk and give Snow a start every 10 or so games. Youks numbers have been very good in his short MLB career. Neither of them can hit for power and Youk is the better avg/obp guy. MLB.com on Sox corner IF from that article-
14. ESPNNEWS- Ron Artest will approve a trade to Sacremento and the deal should happen by tonight. he's a freakin joke
15. when and why was it rescinded?
16. B's next 5-- im thinking they can get atleast 6 points out of these games. Those two games against montreal are huge and they need to atleast win 1. They should beat NYI and Wash. They've played Ottawa pretty tough this year so that should be a good game. If they win that game, they could really gain alot of momentum by beating a good team in Ottawa.
17. Im hoping Cinci gets back in this and we can get Riske and Coco for Clement and Shoppach.
18. espn-- its sounding more and more like Crisp won't be on the red sox next year. one deal ive heard... sox get--crisp, riske, bard phillies get--clement Guardians get--kearns, shoppach (maybe delcarmen??) http://www.boston.com/sports/nesn/wilbur/sports_blog/blog/2006/01/25/coco_milked_for_more/ theres also might be some low-level prospects involved. The firing of the old Reds GM makes this deal a possibility as it was turned down by O'Brien earlier this winter.
19. Regular Season Standings as of 01/25/2006 Gp W L OTL Pts New Jersey 50 26 19 5 57 Tampa Bay 49 25 20 4 54 Atlanta 50 23 21 6 52 Toronto 48 24 21 3 51 Montreal 46 21 19 6 48 Boston 49 20 21 8 48 Florida 50 19 24 7 45
20. ok.............. why do you care, if you've only made one post on this site?
21. Guillermo Mota hasn't "failed" his physical yet, its just that the Guardians are "concerned about his elbow". In other words, the Guardians are backing out of the deal.
22. hes not even on the red sox anymore
23. ive heard rumors about raycroft possibly going to Edmonton. Id like to see the Bruins get Ryan Smyth in return.
