  1. anyone know when the A. Gonzalez signing is supposed to be announced? Didnt he have his physical on monday or tuesday.
  2. a top 3 in the rotation of Beckett, Lester and Papelbon in a couple of years could be as good if not better than the A's Mulder, Zito, Hudson from 2 years ago.
  3. one of mines 7-0
  4. as long as hes getting on base somehow, i dont care. my optimistic crisp projections--- 20 HRs---75 RBIs---.313 AVG---.362 OBP---.835 OPS---120 R---17 SB
  5. fenway helps him out a little and the fact that he has a much better lineup behind him should also help. Id guees around a .360 obp. He needs to learn to be more patient. He loves to swing at the first pitch which isnt good for a leadoff hitter. Damon would go into 6 pitch at-bats alot last year, which might not seem like much, but i can really help in the late innings.
  6. doc lied and wallys having a pretty good game. couple of clutch 3's
  7. that guy was the man. I remember him from the dunk contest a couple years ago with his hair and he was so goofy looking.
  8. ya, i was watching espn news and they asked some reporter from cleveland if crisp's arm is better than damons. The guy said he probably has one of the worst OF arms in the league.
  9. he also has alot of injury problems and is 36 years old. He folds under pressure, which isn't a good thing for him in philly with there fans.
  10. i dont think they need a lefty as long as Seanez stays healthy. Seanez can get out lefties as good as right handed hitter. Arroyo and Timlin also are pretty even when it comes to lefty vs. righty. Tavarez and Riske are not good against lefties. Seanez's splits in '05 against lefties--2.45 era, .230 avg against righties--2.90 era, .212 avg
  11. 2004 era--5.12 2003 era--4.18
  12. rotation beckett schilling wakefield clement papelbon pen arroyo riske dinardo/breslow seanez timlin tavarez foulke which reliever isnt on the roster on opening day? Id say either seanez or the lefties. Hopefully they dont have 12 pitchers on the roster.
  13. schilling beckett wakefield wells clement arroyo riske seanez tavarez foulke timlin dinardo/breslow papelbon they should only carry 11 pitchers and right now they have 13. I AGREE papelbon should and hopefully will be in the rotation, but there going to need to trade someone or release someone for it to happen, which i think they will.
  14. or maybe they go without a lefty in the pen and take 12 pitchers
  15. i dont think so either and i hope they dont but they'll need to either release or trade 2 pitchers for him to have a spot.
  16. ino, but for now i dont no were to put him. If someone gets injured or they suck, he'll be the first person called up to take their spot.
  17. i think cleveland. Michaels finally gets a chance to play, and batting 2nd maybe in clevelands lineup will help him. Rhodes is old and i dont think hes set-up man quality anymore.
  18. i remember before the NBA Draft last year, most mock drafts had Green going 3rd or 4th overall. I dont know how he dropped down to the Celtics. Big steal for them. I hope he gets some NBA playing time this year. He, Al Jeff, Perk, Tony Allen and Delonte are a very good core of young players. They might make for a nice starting 5 in a couple of years.
  19. theres probably certain limits to it, like pitch count, how many innings he pitches, etc.
  20. this is probably the last major move of the offseason, unless Wells goes. The sox will know must likely sign A. Gonzalez and maybe make some minor moves or invite guys to spring training. As of now-- LINEUP 1. Coco Crisp—CF—S 2 .Mark Loretta—2B—R 3. David Ortiz—DH—L 4. Manny Ramirez—LF—R 5. Trot Nixon—RF—L 6. Mike Lowell—3B—R 7. Jason Varitek—C—S 8. Kevin Youkilis—1B—R 9. Alex Gonzalez—SS—R BENCH John Flaherty / Josh Bard—C—R / S Dustin Mohr—OF—R Alex Cora—IF—L J.T. Snow—1B—L Willie Harris—UTIL—L BULLPEN MRP—David Riske—R MRP—Lenny Dinardo/Craig Breslow—L MRP—Rudy Seanez—R SU—Mike Timlin—R SU—Julian Tavarez—R CL—Keith Foulke—R ROTATION 1. Curt Schilling—R 2. Josh Beckett—R 3. Tim Wakefield—R 4. Matt Clement—R 5. Bronson Arroyo—R Wells, Graffaninno and maybe Arroyo/Clement I think will be traded 1. trade wells to S.D. for 2 pretty good prospects 2. trade Tony G to BAL for Matos (4th OF) 3. with arroyo and clement still on the team, theres no place for papelbon in the rotation. I still think one of them might be traded.
  21. ive heard wally might be there. No word on Gerald Green. Anyone know how hes been doing in the d-league?
  22. they'll take mota, since he didn't technically fail his physical, but if hes on the DL for a certain amount of time, the sox might have to give the Guardians an additional prospect.
  23. either gomes or gerald green will have to play more than have been (gomes is avg. 9 mins a game and green hasnt played at all)
  24. so much for it being on "life support" this morning
