    Barry's had a mistress for years. The SI article even talks about her role in Barry's Steroid abuse. I believe his best friend or childhood friend is Gary Anderson, the guy who provided drugs to other atheletes in the bay area. As for Barry being a racist, it's common knowledge that Barry has been quoted as saying he wants to surpass Ruth because he's white.

    Interestingly, topical steroids can cause glaucoma. One of the most dangeorous side effects of steroid use is...strokes. Steroids can also prevent you from growing taller as the artificially high sex hormone (caused by steroids) levels can signal the bones to stop growing sooner than they normally would have done.

    I understand ur feelings HOSN, and I share some of them myself. However, I think most of us would pay respect to just about any dead guy and give him a proper sendoff.

    I'll add to that also RIP Kirby, you wans't the perfect guy off the field, but neither am I. I don't think you deserved to be in the HOF based on your stats, but everything I've read about you seems to agree you were a heckuva ballplayer when you played (I would have liked to watch you more, but you were pre-MLB Extra Innings)

    That's exactly my point. I loved Donnie Baseball, but he justw asn't healthy enough to warant a HOF induction IMO. To add insult on top of Kirby's pedestrian stats, he was a first balloter. Total disgrace to the HOF.
