  1. He didn't say anything actually, if he did I didn't see the quotes.
  2. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2368395&lpos=spotlight&lid=tab1pos1 Excellent article btw. Very well written.
  3. I wonder what the reaction would be if a Red Sox player got hit instead
  4. welcome!
  5. and I see you posting about the Yankees and Bonds. So why can't I post about the NCAAs?
  6. well you said best basketball, not most exciting. There's been some playground games I've seen where people really got into it, these guys are playing for 100 bux a game and they're killing themselves and each other to win. That's pretty exciting to watch also. That's what the NCAAs feel like to me. If they're not good enough to be in the NBA, they might as well be playing a pickup game.
  7. The hype for NASCAR, NBA, golf and tennis comes nowhere near the hype for the NCAA tournament. I dont get told a million times about how NASCAR is the most exciting thing in the world.
  8. like I said, please don't say anything if Ortiz or someone gets nailed in the head for being too comfortable with Randy. In fact, I look forward to your post proclaiming what a great and smart pitcher Randy is for hitting people in the head to make them back off the plate.
  9. Like I said, you can say that about the local junior high school tournament also.
  10. thats ridiculous to call it the best basketball. Even the Knicks could beat every single one of those teams in the tourney. Thats like saying the Litle League Word Series si the best baseball out there or that the Pop Warner 7 year old championship is the best football out there
  11. What does that have to do with anything? so I shouldnt care if another baseball player gets beaned? I love the game, period.
  12. They usually teach you in Little League to doff your cap or say "my bad". You certainly don't say things like "he shoulda ducked". We call it sportsmanship on the diamond, and common courtesy when the game's over.
  13. I still don't get people who were against this. I mean, when you get marquee stars playing for their country, how else is it going to turn out? These aren't spoiled NBA brats. And besides, it's October baseball in March poor fellow, I've seen that movie too many times.
  14. A big "nayh-nyah-nyah-nyah-nyah" to all htose players who declined the invitation to play for their country. That includes you Mr. I-piss-and-moan-about-my-contract-every-year-which-is-why-I-married-one-of-R. Kelly's-piss-and-moaners.
  15. Well you're talking about the drama, etc. Obviously both are differen things, but the "rush" is the same, depending on which one you prefer. Both are sporting events with unpredictable results. Watching a 98 pound twerp like Gracie take out a 300 pounder is just as exciting as watching any underdog in sports knock out the favorite.
  16. UFC has more drama
  17. I'll take any Yankee-Red Sox spring training game over whatever Final Four matchup you throw at me. I just don't see the point of investing any rooting energy in a team I have absolutely no interest in.
  18. And I thought Clemens was a major moron for doing that, so what's the issue here?
  19. Ok, back to Curt.
  20. Am I the only one who can't stand all the hype that goes into the NCAA tourney every year? I feel like the sport news outlets just constantly ram this thing down on us untuil we finally submitted. Given the choice between watching a baseball game or watching the final four, I wouldn't even think twice. Maybe it's because NY is not a college town, but I just don't see the point of watching something you have nothing invested in (unless you're gambling). ESPN, FOXSports, Sportsline, CNNSI all going on and on about brakcetology. I've had my fill of it.
  21. I dont think he is trying to give anyone a concussion. I know he is trying to work inside to keep guys off the plate, but if you nail someone in the head, just take responsibility for it rather than trying to lay the blame on the other guy.
  22. So Randy should hit a couple of your guys in the head for you to respect him as the old Unit?
  23. you hit a guy in the head and give him a concussion, and all you can say is he shoulda been able to get out of the way? sigh. okay remind me to check back in this thread if Unit nails Youk or Ortiz in the head, and then says he shoulda gotten outta the way.
  24. Very classy Curt. Maybe you should take some lessons from a young guy on how to handle these kind of situations. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/5404864
  25. yeah I'm cool with that. Ugh busy week for me, got 3 drafts
