  1. I'd love to get either, Drew sounds great, bt i doubt theyd give him up
  2. Lol, totally agree there But in one article, Chiang was one of the three prospects that have caught the eye of most scouts, otehrs include Tzu-Kai Chiu and Hung-Chen Lai
  3. I say sign 'em all, and we're certainly signing a bunch in the last couple of days, two asians, and an aussie that all show promise and if all goes right have high-celings, The upside is they have 8 years to learn American baseball and develop while doing it.
  4. Yeah, if you get his hitting chart there are a few doubles that will land either over the Monster, orm at least off it so theres already about 10 extra hits right there.
  5. That'd be a good deal for them, Kearns still has the potential to be somethin big once he breaks out, and theyd gain power over what they lsoe in Crisp.
  6. He has Riske at a 4.00+ ERA though, and Mota with a 3.80, I don't agree with that at all. He has Bard hitting .277 though, which is bette offensively than anything we'll get outta Flaherty.
  7. I agree with that projection, and somewhat made that prediciton earlier. If you add the Fenway factor, pap jack, and that he's improving every season the stats tehre make sense.
  8. Lol, not as good as Jackie Robinson Cano isn't bad at all.
  9. Hard to tell how good the kid is or if he'll be anything at all, mostly because I know little or nothing about Aussie baseball, and how it's competition level is, but hey if a scout liked what he saw why not give him a shot.
  10. Yeah, not every prospect pans out in the end, plus there's gotta be something wierd with Marte that would lead to him being traded twice and rejected by the TAMPA BAY DEVIL RAYS for Julio Lugo. As i said before combining the Fenway factor, along with Papa Jack, and how he has steadily been improving over the past couple of years, he has the potential to hit .315+ with us and hit some more HRs.
  11. His obp was only .021 lower than Damon's mot that big of a downgrade. Also he ahd his .300 average in his 3rd season, Damon in his 5th. IMO there's not that much rrom between Coco and Damon.
  12. Oh that was just funny readin down this thread, seein all the banned, banned, banned, banned. Thanks yeszir, made at elast 10 more seconds of my life happy.
  13. I'd say he's a fan, I mean who else would he be rooting for? However I don't buy his statement. Yeah, he gave examples about players leaving every day whow ant to be here via waivers, release. Granted they were probably playing terrible at the time (Bellhorn, Embree) so tehre's reason for it. Just because they want to be here doesn't mean they can stay, they have to earn the playing time and the money they get. In the Damon case I think that everyone forgets that he never told the Sox about the final offer and just took the Yanks 52 mill behind our backs. I'm sure we wouldv'e went higher to maybe 48 mill, in which I'm sure he wouldv'e gone to the Yanks anyway, but he wouldv'e looked far more obvious.
  14. This is just another one of those low-risk, high reward moves by Theo. However, I don't see it on Boston.com or ESPN.com. But if it's true I'm all for it. It's basically a un-injury prone Trot Nixon who just has to find himself, enter Papa Jack. I think this can can hit .280 every year with some time and work and has a good pop in his bat. It also helps that he can hit against lefties.
  15. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/060126 pretty good artcile, love the section where they talk about Manny
  16. Yea I'd buy he's betetr than Millar, overall that is. Anyway, for now Youk, it's his job to lose. If he turns out hitting 10 HRs+ with solid defense and a near .400 OBP I'll be happy. If not we got a solid backup in Snow.
  17. Now it doesn't make any sense, he basically just left for a long vacation, with no change rly at all. It wouldv'e made some sense if he got President of Baseball Operations.
  18. Ummm, last I checked, the Suns were better than the Toronto Raptors
  19. Yeah, I'd rather trade a reliever for Michales than get jipped like that, now that I have a much betetr perspective on the trade.
  20. I'm pretty happy with the trade now that Rike is in it, he should help against lefties a lot. Also, we killed a few bird with one stone gettin Bard included too. I like the 31.7 percent, plus he's only 27 and has Major League experience. So we basically got out backup catcher right there.
  21. Yeah, he may not be the perfect lead-off guy. But there are many reasons to get him over Michaels. 1) Coco has the talent, potential, age, and conduct all over Jason. 2) He's only 26, the guy isn't even in his prime and he's in consideration for being traded for baseball's top 3b prospect. 3) Think of how much better he will do under Papa Jack, of whom has done miracles with this Red Sox offense (not to mention David Ortiz). 4) He will be entering into the "Fenway effect" which should add at least 15+ hits to that average. 5) Looking at his stats he's improved steadily over the past couple of years, add that in with his projected stats for next year. Add it all together he could hit .320+
  22. Only trade possibility for Cora was for Kaz Matsui, which does us little good knowing that we have Loretta at 2nd base.
  23. There is a very big line as to how much credit Duquette gets and how much Theo gets. Dan brought in the likes of Pedro, and yes he deff ripped Seattle for Tek and Lowe. Manny goes in as a wash because of his ridiculously bloated contract and in some people's opinion he shouldv'e let manny go abck to CLE where he was happy. However in the process, he drained our farm, built up our salary, finished behind the Blue Jays in some cases in the AL East, and lets not forget the Rocket episode. Theo brought in players such as Mueller, Foulke, Schilling, Timlin, Ortiz, etc. and for what? Next to NOTHING. Not only did he sign quality players for some no-names and low salaries, but he also re-filled our minors with talent of which we talk about becoming big stars later, and also has set us up to win perenially for the upcoming years. Now some might say, but Theo let Pedro, and signed the wrong SS. Yeah but theyre not exactly his fault. Pedro decided that us offering him what he deserves was a slap in the face, and lets face it, we're in a world where money talsk, so he joined his brotehr Omar in New York. As for Renteria, yes it turned out a mistake, but pre-signing him, he was overall a much better, or at least more secure choice than OCab, it wasn't Theo's fault "the dirt was too bumpy". The line comes down as follows: Yeah, Dan helped, but he hurt us in the long term while doing it. Lucky for us Theo has given us a better outlook on the future, and got us over the hump in 2004.
