  1. There's no way you can say Chacon and Small will have the same years that they had for a portion of last year. Plus we will have a much better rotation with the additions of Beckett and a healthy Schilling, so last years stats have no credibility. Also watch out, while we're geeting younger (beckett, papy, lester) your getting older (Johnson, Moose) supported by big question marks behind them (Wright, Pavano).
  2. I agree that they have a small window as of now but IMO this deal makes nos ense for them. Also they aren't getting Clement, theyre getting Jose Vidro. The same Jose Vidro tha hit .275 with 7 HRs for his ridiculous salary, and lest face ir, he aint gettin any younger (30 years old). Jsut doesnts eem like the right player to trade for when you have an aging Cliff Floyd, and a young star OF.
  3. Lol, yea Teddy was goin on and on about how Williams would not be called on for fouling Dudley or the otehr kid, but oh well, they fought till the end
  4. no, i got it, but my tv's unplugged, paintin the walls
  5. jesus i wish i could watch this game is it on WEEI?
  6. Well, as said in mlbtraderumors, if Milledge isn't involved it makes none sense for us at all, with no big improvement coming in return. If Milledge is comin to town, however, it makes no sense for the Mets at all. Esseenitally they trade Millegde for a 30+ year old 2B with a crazy salary, where instead they could make a run at Zito for it. I understand at balking it for Diaz, so that must be what's really going down if it is indeed true.
  7. Yeah, Bostonw asn't the right place for Edgar, he should do fine in the NL where he had been his whole career, I wish the best of luck to him. Now hopefully, the two Marlins can bounce back from horrible years to their normal selves, combining for 40 or 50 HRs.
  8. Well, yes they are all question marks, but it's not like Lowell has had 2 or 3 bad seasons in a row, he posted career lows in HRs and RBIs (besides rookie season) so common sense would think it a fluke year. Gonzo had the same problem (career lows) and the two seasons prior had hit 15+ HRS. Also the Fenway Factor helps them some. Youk is a bit different but he has been touted a little the past few eyars and really we're just giving him a shot to start, so we'll see hwo it works out.
  9. Anything is an upgrade over Damon's arm
  10. I like the idea of platooning him with Nixon in RF, also he provides a safety net behind Youk if Kevin isnt up to snuff.
  11. Look at the potential HRs we could get outta this lineup if ALL goes well 1) Coco Crisp - 15 2) Mark Loretta - 15 3) David Ortiz - 40 4) Manny Ramirez - 40 5) Trot Nixon - 20 6) Jason Varitek - 20 7) Mike Lowell - 30 8) Kevin Youkilis - 20 9) Alex Gonzalez - 20 That is pretty friggin potent
  12. Wow, very happy with the deal, we get a GG shortstop who with some work can hit .270 with 20+ HRs. Also this offseason we have improved at every element over lats year. Starting is better, Bullpen is vastly improved, the Infield defense was pumped with 3 GGs (Snow at 1st), and the offense is quietly improved over last year. I am very happy to get a guy with experience and some pop in Gonzo, hopefully the dirt won't be as bouncy for him as Rentanerror
  13. Yeah, I think he's stayin put for now. If they can't get him dealt by now than it means no one is willing to give up everything needed for him.
  14. Yeah, I'd love to get some solid hitting C or 3b outta this, and the Dodger's have trhee players who fit that profile in their BA top 10.
  15. I wouldn't mind Gonzalez at all. I mean we could potentially have a 20 HR lineup from 1 to 9. Especially with him, I mean look at his HR totals at PRO PLAYER STADIUM than double it when he plays in AL Parks, not many pitcher friendly fields.
  16. Totally agreed
  17. True, but where will he start out in our minors? low single A? or like Lowell?
  18. Seems like we got a whole team comn out of the minors, that'd be pretty sick to have like 3/4 of the team come from the farm.
  19. Your tellin me, not only for Yanks prospects, but a site for every team's top prospects. It's great to get all the info on what to expect from each player etc. as they give on soxprospects.
  20. But what woudl we use him for? Hansen is our closer, DC and Edgah are our set-ups and that isn't bad at all. Sure I'd lvoe Broxton, but I want tot ake advantage of a desperate team and get a high-quality hitting spect that could serve us in the future, poreferabley at C, or 3b.
  21. If your could get thsoe links that'd be great, I'd love to learn about this guy or get some sort of idea on how high his ceiling is. Hopefully soxprospects.com gets a scouting report on him soon.
  22. Yeah I'm interested in all of tehse foreign elague series' or games etc. I'm really looking foward to the WBC, which should be entertaining to watch.
  23. I actually don't knwo much about him, but sounds like he's a funny bastard
  24. I wouldn't mind getting him but I think we're almost log-jammed in the bullpen now. Though Timlin, Seanez might not be around much longer. We would have perhaps the most promising future reliever-wise in Hansen, DC, Big Edgah, and than Yhency. I would prefer to gain some solid hitting prospects out of it.
