  1. Yeah it is kinda murder to play for a team you hate, because if you ever get that game-winning hir then it is always brought fown by the fact you payed for the Yanks, especually if it's against the Sox. I know it sounds stupid to you guys, but for a 12 yr old kid it can be a big deal.
  2. That's true, you can never tell precisely just off stats, because honestly, did anyone predict what they did when Ortiz had his first big year? I think that came off of a lot of work with Papa Jack, and the Fenway factor.
  3. Yeah, what ever happened to Zhamnov? Injured again? Well he should do some good, idk wha line on though. However that Bergeron-Boyes line should stay intact, just based on how well its working.
  4. He just needs to breakout, he has all the tools, just needs to get it all together.
  5. My bad on the new thread, totally forgot about this one
  6. There've been a ton of articles and stories about this on TV and I saw that there wasn't really a formal thread for it. Here's a good article that explains the situation most updated. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2006/02/10/no_noise_on_this_rocket/ I personally would love to get him here, there's just so many pro's and would be the perfect ending to his HOF career. Hell we'd probably retire his number or like build him a statue or sumthin. Also a sstated in the article he would rub off on a rotation that most of the pitchers idolize him (Beckett, Schill) and imagine how much better Beckett can be with tutoring from the Rocket AND Schilling. Clemens Schilling Beckett Wakefield Wells/Papelbon That is a great rotation right there with a few HOF possibles. Then again any rotation is great when you have friggin Beckett as your 3rd starter.
  7. Umm man I forget, it was a Diamondbacks game though, I forget who they played, probably an NL West team, I'm thinkin Dodgers.
  8. sid the kid
  9. if you stayed calm then no one would have a beef with you at all, just dont always try to argue every point that may be contested.
  10. Jesus Rivernator, over the past few weeks since you've been here there have been more Yanks-Sox fights than in the year before hand. It's always a f***in argument with you, just shut up and try to stay on topic, I'm not sayin you start every argument but you certainly don't help at all. Learn to coincide with us Sox fans like the other Yanks fans who actually do good for the forums. When theres a time for a Yanks-Sox fight then there's a time but not in every thread that starts out with The Sox trying to deal Manny. Everyone just drop it and get back on topic, if you all wanna fight then create a new thread in the fights n crap, and what the hell I'll join in.
  11. That makes no sense, a 2nd batter's job is to either move the leadoff guy along or get on base as well, hence giving the third and clean-up spot more RBI opportunities. Power in no way a needed component, otherwise that's like sayin if papi had speed we could put him in the #2 spot.
  12. I only remember Tocchet as a Coyote for some reason, back when they had Thacuck (wrong spelling), Roenick, Khabibulin, and otehrs, they had a pretty good team if you look at how they turned out.
  13. The FO has slowly put together a quielty potent offense that could do circles around last year's offense. Loretta, Lowell, and Gonzo could all have big years if you add in the variables and combined they could get up to 60 HRs from just those three, to compliment Manny & Ortiz so that we don't have to solely rely on them. Also lets not forget about Varitek who can still knock the cover off the ball. This is what would be great to see from this lineup: Crisp-15 HRs Loretta-15 HRs Ortiz-35 HRs Manny-40 HRs Varitek-20 HRs Lowell-20 HRs Nixon-20 HRs Youkilis-15 HRs Gonzalez-15 HRs Same goes for the pitching, who fi they reach their full potential or even come clsoe could be one of the most complete staffs in the league.
  14. I don't know but DiNardo really does remind of Arooyo when he was coming up and in no way is that bad. I see him sticking around as long as he doens't get hammered, however I think Riske can take on lefties
  15. It's good we're signing all of thses international players, I like it.
  16. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2006/02/08/a_rocket_reentry_intriguing/ HAHAHA!
  17. ALright, if Wood has 50 HR potential, Morales has good power and could take over in LF, and Howie would be Pedroia's partner up the middle AND at the top of the order, I see a lot of reason to do that deal. Who gives a f*** if they make the HOF, that doesn't mean they won't be great players (i.e.i Jim Rice). Also Rivernator, just because Cano had 1 half a season better over Loretta means nothing. I agree, he might very well overdo what Loretta has done in his career, and has the talent to do it. But youtake one season WAY to serisously. That's like saying you'd want Bernie Williams over Johnny Damon just because Bernie may hir a bit higher for 1/3 of the season.
  18. Even with him I'm still not scared of anyone on that team but Wells and Halladay. Burnett has had an average career, Overbay is nothing spectacular, though I wouldn't have minded gettin him, Ryan is nothing new to us, and is no Mo. Glaus is a good power, bad contact guy, who probably will have trouble against the AL East pitching. Overall they got a bunch of average players when they couldv'e been smart and waited until next season.
  19. Yeah like David Wells? Please, we only say good riddance to players that disrespect us in our point of view and with the info we know about. Lowe- never did anythign to him Roberts - nothing, still wnat him back Pokey- great guy, good luck to him OCab - great guy, wanted him back Pedro- trashed us when he left, when tehre was no reason for it, after all he did here he put it behind him because he thought getting a reasonable offer was a slap in the face. Even so we never really trashed him. Damon- First he swore he wouldn't go to the Yanks, than he never told us about the offer he got, so we really weren't able to show our "lack of respect for him". He says we never budged, but that's because he never gave us an offer that was threatening. If he told us about the Yanks offer, I'm sure we wouldv'e gone higher. Millar- He was just plain annoying, had some good contributions, but the bad far exceeded the good, yes, without him we lsoe the 04 ALCS, but he wa sjust terrible last season and just wouldn't shut up.
  20. I really enjoyed the part about how they drafted and chose players. How even though no team would take him, they saw tremendous talent in "The Thing" who killed in the AFL, etc. And how it went over about how make-up was so important and all.
  21. Lol, my favorite quote by McCarver has gotta be: "With a 4 run lead, Pedro pitches like a whiley wolverine" wtf does that mean? or "Like rusty razor, that's just a bad swing by O'Neill"
  22. That is SO going into my sig if possible
  23. Yeah, last I checked you weren't Schill or any source close to him
  24. Only good reason about having all this above average pitching is because we can trad ethem for young talent/spare parts however that doesn't seem to be working as of now.
