  1. Stan Musial, though Boff is hard to beat
  2. Idk what your talking about, his last three seasons as a reliever he's had -4.00 ERAs, his WHIP was 1.325 which isn't 1.47 and is just above Mike Timlin. Also his wlalks aren't outrageous either, which is 1 more than Rivera's 18. Only concern with him to me is his personality which shouldn't be that much of an issue.
  3. I wouldn't mind getting Balentien out of this deal, good power hitting OF who could possibley fill a spot in our future OF, though I'm not sure if he beats out Moss/Murphy.
  4. Who are some of the best possiblities that may fall down to our earliest pick?
  5. Any early rumors about who we're looking at?
  6. Thig that's frustrating is every team we try to deal with is trying to jip us big time. No way Reed is worth Lester, no way Coco is worth Marte. If we weren't in a bind then these deals might already be done.
  7. Yeah, no s*** they were scouted, it was in response to syaing that they were all signed.
  8. 7.8 ERA vs. the Rays? No thanks
  9. This was a very frustrating game to watch. We out gain them, we stop them on defense. All mistakes. The Brady endzone INT, the Vintieri miss, the Faulk fumble, the terrible def. interference call all added up to this. If this went out regularly we dominated this game. But oh well you can only ask fro so much, 2 super bowls back-to-back aint bad.
  10. notice after our nomar trade we got better and made that run.
  11. Yeah, and post-game shows with Bob Lobel are terrible. He's about as useless as a condom in the Vatican.
  12. Zito attends/attended the Berklee College of Music so he's been here already. Also he has been known to want to come to Boston for reasons I cannot remember. Also the media is made to be more relentless than it really is. Players have gotten away with not talking to the media and getting respect off of pure talent, ala Manny (minus his stupidity). Also he is not exactly what i would call a "space cadet", a space cadet is more along the lines of Carl Everett. As for the surfing issue, he can surf on the East Coast also, we got an ocean here too. Even if he doesn't surf here, he can go to the West Coast during the Offseason.
  13. Ummmm I have a feeling some of em were drafted, just a hunch.
  14. I wouldn't mind getting Taveras as a one year guy at all. Great speed and decent contact.
  15. Umm, Paul Konerko, yes please!
  16. Oh i hope you took pictures
  17. I think it's a combo of his wicked high ceiling and also because that's allwe got for Renteria.
  18. Oh man these are gunna be a good few years watching our 1-2 combo get groomed into the Majors and flourish.
  19. She looks a lot better on the cover of Boston magazine, if i can find a link I'll get it.
  20. We don't have any other LHPs so why would you trade DiNardo, who could be a lefty-version of Arroyo?
  21. (cough) that's boras talking (cough)
  22. How could they want a high-lvel prsopect, theyre the ones getting the best power right handed batter in the AL. If anything, WE should command more. Anyone have any scouting reporst on Tajeada? I can't find any good ones. I really like this Michales guy, solid defense, a .399 OBP, and a solid hitter overall. He and Loretta should create a lot of RBI opportunities for Papi and Abreu. We already have 2 hitters wiht better OBPs than Damon who can hit for a good average and provide some sort of pop. IMO Michales is VERY underrated, only because he is unkown somewhat. Loretta .365 OBP Michales .380 OBP Ortiz .366 OBP Abreu .411 OBP That is a very Bill James/Billy Beane type lineup right there.
  23. Yeah the Yankees aren't as bad as they're made out to be, but they're still not wicked good. No blue chip prospects like we have besids Cano (not sold on Wang). If they actually think of the future when they draft they could moe up with one solid draft.
  24. This Tavarez guy is a gamer, almost a mental-gamer which should pump everyone up in the clubhouse, or start controversy. I'd love to see this guy pitch to some big time AL hitters (ARod, Miggy) just because he loves to win. He could be good especially with Varitek, because most likely he'll listen to Varitek to get these guys out. He is a good big game guy we need back in the pn along with Timlin, this way Timlin doesn't make anymore record number of appearences. Timlin Foulke Mota Tavarez Hansen List of possible clsoers is getting bigger and bigger. I like this idea because it puts some added pressure on whoever is closing because they know if they f*** up theyll get pulled for one of those guys (Hansen possible).
  25. What do you guys think of this: I know he has bad make-up but the guy ahs loads of talent. He is 6'0" tall and has the speed/moves to gain yardage. I say we take a risk on this kid, get our needs then draft him in the late rounds and let Belichick and the coaches turn him into a better-mannered person and WR. What the Pats have always lacked is a big strong presence in the end zone besides the TE. With him calmed down under Belichick, he could be a speedy, big physical guy and one of the top WRs to go along with Branch and Givens.
